are you an immigrant or us citizen? if you are, i dont think the cali bon will know that you failed the NLE when you apply for cali nclex. they just require tor from your school..they're not requiring any documents from prc. i think your written explanation will be fine not mentioning that you took and failed the nle. |

| Posted about 3 years ago Hi I'm an immigrant and I've just graduated in the Phil. last march 2010 and now I'm currently applying for the NCLEX exam but I intend to go to the US on July 10... I'm wondering if I can just pass my application now without any fingerprint yet and I will just have the live scan as soon as I arrive there on July?...and send it to the BON by JUly?...or should it be more advisable to pass both the application and the fingerprint at the same time?... please help thanx a lot...:) |

yes.. you can send your application now without the finger print, and send the finger print later. it's better to send the application (including the documents from your school) now so they can evaluate it early. |

| Posted almost 3 years ago Hi. I've been reading this forum ever since I graduated last March 2010 using it as a guide upon applying for NCLEX. Unfortunately, I'm one of those whom the Board is asking for addtl requirements: --logbook, rotation --class schedule --Visa/passport --Transcript
My question is how come they are asking for my transcript when my school already sent them? I graduated from only one school with a few subjects from a previous school. (didn't graduate from the previous school)The grades from that school is already stated in my official transcript. Do I need to have that school send the transcript as well? How come my friends who were in the same situation didn't encounter such problems? |

Thanks a lot for Barokok... who replied on my inquiry last time...
but instead of the live scan... I just applied for the manual fingerprint card..My brother received the fingerprint card and sent it to me here in the Philippines... My problem is: 1.) it says that I need a local enforcement agency (FBI) to help me fill-up the fingerprint... where in the Manila can I go or what agency can I go to fill-up this fingerprint since I'm still here in the Philippines?... is it okay if I just go to the NBI here in Manila to fill-up the fingerprint card? 2.) They sent me two fingerprint cards--- if ever will I send the two fingerprint cards to the BON or one card to BON and one card to the DOJ in california who sent me the card?... Any help and advice is very much appreciated..:) God bless! |

| Posted almost 3 years ago cp0828: maybe they still havent recevied your transcipt? if you sent the requirements may 11 (transcript and rle from school?), that was a very short time. most of us took at least 6 weeks for them to received our transcript from the philippines. just call them and clarify it if they already received it from the philippines. rlglance: did you know that doing a live scan will take 1-2 weeks of processing, and doing the finger print card manually will take 2 months (without the mailing time) to process? but if you're doing manually, yes you should go to the nbi.. |

| Posted almost 3 years ago Hi. I tried calling the CA BON with the number 916 574 7697, but got a fax tone. The other one ending in 3350, seems to be out of service. Been calling since Thursday. Whoever has another contact number, I would appreciate it. Thanks. |

| Posted almost 3 years ago okay, I'll be doing that. I have another clarification though. The Board also required me this: * Transcript sent directly to the board of registered nursing for all education/ training completed prior to enrolling in your nursing program. Does this entail my elementary and high school education? Because my school already sent out my college transcript more than a month ago. Thanks in advance. |

| Posted almost 3 years ago Hi. I FINALLY got my call answered by the BON-CA. So what they wanted is my High School transcript. They called it the pre-requisites. To those who have questions, call them at 916-322-3550. You just have to be very very very patient because you will be put on the line so many times, or even get a busy tone. I got through after 10 minutes. |

| Posted almost 3 years ago Effective on April 26, 2010 California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) will no longer accept applications that do not contain a U.S. Social Security Number. The Nursing Practice Act provides for a unified examination and licensing application. Once an applicant passes the examination, a license is automatically issued. Under these circumstances the BRN cannot accept applications for the examination and licensure without a U.S. social security number.... |

| Posted almost 3 years ago Local license is a requirement in california eversince. But if you dont have it, you can explain to california why, and its up to them to accept it or give you additional requirements, for them to determine that your nursing program is comparable to US standards. |
