| Posted almost 5 years ago I presently work with some nurses who feel that some duties such as assisting clients with toileting needs or cleaning up bodily fluids are beneath them. Before earning my RN degree, some of the RN's would always call on me for the dirty jobs. I didnt mind because, the only thing I was concerned with at that time was caring for my client. Think about it. How would you feel if you were sick and people were passing on the job to others, instead of immediately caring for you. I would feel hurt. I reported this matter to my supervisior and of course nothing was done. Nothing was done intill a patient took action for the neglect by reporting what was going on. Since I have been an RN I try to be an example to that nurse. We should care for the client first. Delagating duties is a part of nursing but lets not allow clients to be saturated for any period of time. Just because you are an RN dosent mean you cant get down dirty.

| Posted almost 5 years ago I can't believe that! I mean, I'm sure cleaning bodily fluids is not the most fun aspect of nurisng, but it's important! That's so sad that there are those few people out there... |
