My second day on the job: I was leaving a patient room and a man dressed in plain clothes walked passed. I was promptly scolded for leaving the room when he entered -and he wouldn't let it go. All of this happened in front of the alert patient. The crazy thing is -I didn't even know he was a doctor or that he worked there. Some people just have no class or common courtesy.

LOL  I know what it is like to not know a doctor whne one is present.  We have this doctor who reminds me of a refugee or a homeless man.  he is a good doctor but to look at him one would not think he is one....  I remember the first night I saw him I asked why he as allowed in the office.... ;>)

I had one doctor say " I remember when nurses would jump up and give the doctor the chairs when they arrived at the desk"  My reply "I didn't realize you would admit that you were that old".  He has never said that to me again and when I am on, he is usually on his best behavior.  Of course when one nurse called him about a patient, he asked her "do you know where I am?" Her response "no, but let me tell you where I am".  He came to the floor took care of the matter and again she has had no problems with him.
