MD1NURSING says ...

Is this possible?

Sure it is.  Most of my PhD professors are nurse educators.  Only two are NP's but have their PhD in nurse education.  One has her PhD in Public Health and her masters is in this too.

You sound confused and ridiculous.  Please, if you are still considering nursing, explore another field.

If you spend $200 to get a "Life Experience" doctorate - you will have exactly the degree you deserve.

Good luck.

A $200 life experience PhD will be worth about squat. Take a look at the news article I posted a few days ago on phony degrees. If you want the title, you need to know what you are getting into and you need to earn it. I do not understand the comment you want the title but not the responsibility. If you ever get the degree, you will have the responsibility despite where you are working. You are always held to the degree of your training. For example; if you hold a license as an RN and as an LPN and you take a job as an LPN if anything goes wrong, you will be held responsible as an RN, not an LPN.

As a general rule I tend to be encouraging to those who are seeking to work as a nurse. In your case I am going to agree with some of the others on here. You are beginning to alarm me with your inquires and I, like some of the others on this site think that you should look into a field other than nursing. This may sound harsh but I truly feel that what the above posts have mentioned in this case are valid.

I'm not sure if you understand why you're getting so much resistance in the forum for your posts about getting your PhD.  Either you are not expressing yourself well or you aren't sure how to express what you want or what your actual goals are.  Once you become an RN, you will always be an RN, unless you let your license expire and not renew it.

Something I'm not sure you are understanding is with any higher degree, comes a great deal more responsibility.  If you reach your goal and become a Phd, there are the very real expectations and responsibilities  of being an expert in the field of nursing you choose.

Another thing is everything is a process.  Steps you must take to first become an RN, then your MSN, then your PhD.   I would think, if you're actively involved in nursing, many of these questions you have asked, you would already know the answers to them.

No one wants to discourage you from your ultimate goal.

thanks Hjoeljonhson

Everyone i apologize for  my stupid staments. but to clearify i meant responsibilty of MD doctors. I like the title Dr. thats all i didnt mean i didnt want the phd as an advanced RN responsibility? i meant An actual Dr. responsibilty i love nursing but want the phd or dr. title. I guess i am expressing myself wrong! thank you all for your thoughts and comments?

question: what is a life degree as mentioned?
