I just wanted to let everyone know that I have been offered a full time OR position. I will officially accept the position tomorrow 6/5 and turn my resignation in at my current job on 6/6. It looks like I will be starting on July 14th. I am required to work a 4 week notice and I am going to take a week off before I start my new job.

This is an internship position so I will be training for approximately 6 months. OR is a totally different kind of environment and has a very long orientation program. Dmazment as crazy as it was to train prn in an OR, I guess it paid off. I think it helped me get my foot in the door at another hospital.

I am so excited about starting this job. I am also scared to death, but I guess that just goes with changing jobs. Wish me well on my new endeavor.

You would love it, maybe someday, you might consider working in recovery, I hear it is less stressful, the patients is like post op patients, but you are monitoring them before they go out on the floor, I was considering doing recovering nursing myself, their scheldules are pretty flexiable.

I am a proud mother of three beautyful daughter. I currently live in Los Angeles California. I've worked as a heathecare provider for almost 10 years. I am curently in school to pursue my MSN in nursing, and wants to work as a pediactric nurse, in public health.

Starlight, it may have influences them it may not have.  Frankly, I think your desire and wanting to be an OR Nurse so much showed through is the biggest reason you got the internship.  Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!

The best place to work..in the OR! I currently work in the OR and I love it! You will see so much and so interesting what goes on under all that skin! I am searching for a job now as an RN in the OR but I am just a tech and I need some med-surg experience first but best believe once I get this experience I am going back to the OR! Best of luck!

Penny, I am suprised that you were able to get some previous per-diem training in OR. I 'm sure that was helpful.

I wish you well on your new job.
