Posted almost 5 years ago It is always difficult when you lose a pet. Until early this morning our household consisted of three cats, one dog, three humans. We lost one of our cats this morning, his name was Gaz. A big, lovable tuxedo, polydactyl character, full of mischief, personality. and just three years old. Unfortunately, he also had asthma. He was fine when I left last night. Apparently he was fine until around 6am today when he suddenly began to have trouble breathing. When I arrived home at 8am,my grandson Aidan was screaming for me saying Gaz was dying. His eyes were dilated, his gums were white, his breathing was extremely labored. I worked on him, trying to suction out the mucous, tried some clapping and postural drainage but when my daughter, Stacey said to him, (he was actually her baby) Gaz, you can go now, I don't want you to suffer anymore. Not more than 30 seconds later, he died in her arms. It's a very sad day here, but the Universe decided she wanted Gaz back. He gave us much joy, if only for three short years. We will all miss him very much, will hold his memory close to our hearts and remember him, each and every day. |

Wow. The understanding of a child. And the devotion of a pet. Both are incredible, overpowering, and beautiful. I am so sorry for your loss of Gaz. |

| Posted almost 5 years ago Thank you Laural, we miss him alot, but I have to say, the changes in our other male cat has been just short of phenomenal. Gir had a tendancy to be testy, lash out at what he didn't like and now he's become the most lovable cat. |
