Posted almost 5 years ago I offered to help out tonight at the pinning/graduation ceremony at my school. It was amazing! I have never been to one before and was so taken back. I just can't wait till mine next year. The ceremony was held at the most beautiful church I have ever seen in my life. I would love to get married there one day. LOL. I loved the candle lighting...it was very emotional. I wish the nurses would have worn some type of cap but they did not. They all wore white and it was a pants suit....very nice and it was embroided with a beautiful design on the top. Congrats to all you graduates from Bayonne Medical Center School of Nursing. God Bless and God speed.

Posted almost 5 years ago sap a pinning/graduation is a wonderful thing to see. However they are all different. We graduated 32 students. We all had to wear white dresses of our own choice ( had to be 2 inches above the knee), white stockings and white shoes. We also got our caps, which I really could have done without. I felt like a dork, but hey it was tradition. Haven't worn it since. Our graduation was in the autotorium at the college. Can't say it was beautiful. Kind of dark and dreary. We only got 10 invitations each b/c of limited seating. It wasn't a problem for me but there were some girls that had many family members that wanted to come, and didn't get to b/c of the limited number of tickets we got. I haven't worn my dress, hat or shoes since graduation. Can't bring myself to part with it though. LOL As the freshman class we had to host and put on the reception after the graduation for the sophomores, which was kind of neat. Alot of work though. We had to wear our school uniforms that we did clinicals in to the graduation. Just think it will be you next year. It will be here before you know it.

Posted almost 5 years ago I liked my LPN pinning better than the RN. We lit candles on our nursing lamps, had white uniforms, said a pleade and received our nursing cap. The RN pinning we couldn't have flames, so no candles or lamps. We could wear anything we want just no flip flops, one person wore a evening gown, and we had to wear lab jackets. We went up got our pin and that was it. I was dumb founded that we didn't have any pleade, shouldn't we have stated some type of pleadge to be an RN, to take care of people or something. This has been on my mind this week. There wasn't anything, not even Nightengale. Please don't pay any attention to my misspelled words or typos. Sorry I'll try harder next time.

Posted almost 5 years ago This RN ceremony had candles...and the lamps were lighted. It was very nice.OMG! You couldn't wear what you wanted. You had to purchase the "graduation" uniform which was an all white 2 piece pant suit with lovely embroidery.

Posted almost 5 years ago One thing with our pinning is the class bought all of our lab jackets and had them embroidered with our name. To me it was lacking, so much so I couldn't picture going to the graduation ceremony. I had pictured a major ceremony and it was boring. I thought after such work there would be so much more. Please don't pay any attention to my misspelled words or typos. Sorry I'll try harder next time.

Posted almost 5 years ago Well I'm excited for mine next year. My school does a great job as should all schools. Hey, it's a big achievement, right? We are allowed to bring as many people as we want, so that's good because I'm sure my parents will want to invite everyone on the east coast!! LOL LOL
