Hello I'm about to start my cna in a few months and I really want to get a job in a hospital. Do I have a good chance to get hired in a hospital because I speak english and spanish?

I would think that would be a very big plus for you. I have been trying for a long time to learn spanish.

BEING BILINGUAL IS AN ADDITIONAL RESOURCE TO THE MEDICAL AND CARE GIVING ENVIROMENT.IF EVERYONE CAN APPRECIATE DIVERSITY AND AIDE AND LEARN FROM ONE ANOTHER -IT MAKES THE WORKPLACE FULL OF SMILES.NEVER TO LATE TO LEARN OR OBTAIN WISDOM FROM PEOPLE IN ANY OCCUPATIONAL VOCATION.I'M STILL BRUSHIN UP ON MY SPANISH AND A LITTLE YIDDISH THROWN IN FOR ETHNICAL FLAIR.

I think by you  being spanish speaking it is great. I do encourage you to get more experience so you can get your speed, and organization skills to par. I worked in a skilled nursing home facility for 14 months, before I worked in a acute hospital setting. I can say, the first time I worked at a hospital, I was scared to death. In a SNF setting everyone was somewhat stable, and you knew their baseline condition, but in a acute setting, everyone's blood pressure was elevated, temps up, and you have to move at a really!!!! fast pace, with acuracy. Good luck, keep educating yourself.

I am a proud mother of three beautyful daughter. I currently live in Los Angeles California. I've worked as a heathecare provider for almost 10 years. I am curently in school to pursue my MSN in nursing, and wants to work as a pediactric nurse, in public health.

Thank everyone for the replies. I'm about to start my career as a cna very soon. I want to become a rn so I decided to start at the bottom and then work my way up as the years go  by and my baby get more older. I'm happy to know both languages I know that we are needed in this health profession.
