Posted almost 5 years ago Hello to every1 that reads this. I am a 20yr old single mother of 1 that is trying to decide whether to go 2 LPN school and work my way up2 a BSN degree or go straight through 4years of college im worried that i might not have what it takes to get through college and on top of that i will have to try and get into nursing school i know that nursing programs r very competive and hard to get in2 but then again i know that i probably could stick it out. I want to be a nurse midwife so i know u have to get a masters to get2 that im just so unsure about this but then i again this is something i really want to try2 do so any1 that reads this i would really appreciate your advice thanks:) and also the reason i want2 b a midwife is because i like watching tv shows where women deliver and i have always been good with or should i say into health and learning about a woman's body im also curious about other people's lives so becoming a midwife would allow me to be involved in other's lives i don't know if these r good enough reasons but i sure hope so and also im not that good with math so thats what worries me the most does any1 know if universities offer remedial classes 4 math im in ohio |

| Posted almost 5 years ago Everyone has accomplished thier schooling a little different and have different advice to give. Of course it depends on where you are going to school and your ability to survive while in school. No matter what you must have a strong support system in plac ebefore you begin OK!!!!! THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT TO YOUR SUCCESS!!!! ;>) For me personally I wish I would have gone straight through and gotten my BSN at least. I believe that some practical experience is important before a Masters, but that is just my opinion at this point of my carreer. I do however value my ADN experience because it gave me alot more hands on learning, which works well for me. I want to go back and get my Masters so I can work towards making changes for the future. It is hard to go back to school for many reasons: 1) need to work only part time to allow time for studies 2) thinking about writing all of those papers again only more 3) leaving my patients-love what I do now 4) less time with friends and family-- this is a big one----been there and done that for 4 yrs already and didn't realize how hard it was until needing to do it again.
