I am really getting sick of this. I just submitted a video and lost five points. This is getting very old.

At first, it was a lot of fun wracking up the points. Also, there was a blurb on the site that stated the points will get you freebies and chances to review products. That little blurb has since disappeared. It gets harder to build up the points as we go along. No one has been able to explain how the point system works and how we get the points. I have been on this site, as many of us have, for almost a year. May of us came on here just as the site started up. You would think that we would be off the carts with our points would you not. I have spent hours and hours on this site. Don’t take me wrong, I do like this site; I just want to see some rewards for being so faithful.  

This is my first day to be on this site, and I've not read anything on the point system; however, I can tell that they can be subtracted just as fast as they can be added.  So, let's say you had done a video and 3 posts and got 6 points for all, then you say something on another post that 7 people took exception to, it looks like you go to -1 point.  Is that how it is suppose to work?  Then one has to find out what is bringing on the thumbs down on certain posts.  I think I'd do a thumbs down for negativism, lack of objectivity and reasoning, slamming someone else's post, or not having presented a valid point, for some starters.  Am I on the right track here?

Shan, you loose points if someone does not like your post? Well doesn't that just suck. Ya know, I really got fed up a long time ago with the points. Right now they are just meaningless; absolutely meaningless. They need to just get rid of the points as they mean nothing. I am no longer concerned with them. I left here because of the stupid system and missed the interactions and the useful parts of the site. I am just going to take what I can from the site and go on.

You do not lose points by someone giving you a thumbs down.

What do the points mean?  Do you get anything for them?

Did the points ever mean anything? Has anyone ever gotten anything from having most points?

Hi annie,  I have given up on the points. At one time, they did mean a grat deal to me. Now, I am just having fun on here.

I didn't come to this site to win points and be "popular".  I came on this site to make nursing friends and ask questions and become educated.

I am having fun doing this.  Once school starts in a week I might not be able to get to this site as often as I usually do because of classes, studying, etc.  I can't worry about my points and someone passing me in the race. LOL

 I do what I can when I can. We all should.

 Here is my 2 cents and really maybe 1 1/2 cents , but.....this is a free site, we do not pay member ship to converse with each other here, if we did I can see why issues of points would matter, but we don't and they don't. I enjoy talking to others and have found some really cool people on this site, I love giving MY input that MAY help another nurse in what ever way possible, but that is just me, for some of you the points matter and I do not want to minimize YOUR feelings in any way, just remember that this is free, fun and For others as well as us, you always gain when you help someone else. Take a deep breath. exhale, and appreciate the fact we HAVE this site at all.  Hugs all Patty
