Posted about 5 years ago How in the world can hey wonder why they cannot find nurses and nursing instructors? This is an ad for a clinical instructor. If some takes on this job for this pay, they are a sick puppy. The students are working under YOUR license when you are an instructor. Try keeping up with 6 to 8 students. There is NO WAY IN HELL that I would take students to any unit for this pay, forget about to a peds unit. |

Moritz said the aging of her teachers - the average age is 58 - and the small number of nurses with advanced degrees necessary to teach is a critical problem. Nurses also make much more money in the field than in academia. Of the 72 teaching jobs, Moritz had 19 vacancies this year and could find only seven full-time replacements. She filled the other slots with part- time instructors.
