Minnesota is now putting drug company money under the microscope. Do you think that this will lessen the influence that the major drug companies have in state politics? Is anything similar being done in your state?

Nothing like this is being done in Connecticut. I wish it was our state is very expensive for drugs. There has been a lot of growth in the "Bus to Canada" industry.

I personally feel that pharm. companies are a rip off. There is no reason medications should be that expensive. They make these drugs to help people then price them so high many can not afford them. Some companies have even experimented on the so called 'unworthy' in third world comtries to make sure the product either works or does work causing deaths in some cases. They should be looking into their money and ethical policies.

We will be entering an era of a Healthcare Revolution. Many things in our profession are priced out of the common man's reach. Our nation is getting fed up with the lackadaizcal approach of our leaders to address our concerns for healthcare.
Most are not aware that our leaders and families are covered for life even after leaving government service. So healthcare to them is an issue they can afford to use as a sound bite on the 6:00 news. I say if you are a gov't leader you pay for healthcare just like the rest of us. What makes you a servent of the people more eligible than the poor, to recieve this windfall (graft) .Folks we put these "servants of the people" in office., and we can kick these bozo's to the curb. Drug companies are getting their money from federal grants.(our taxes) and we are paying again for the meds that we need to keep our youngest and eldest healthy. I guess I sound like a rabble rouser, and I guess I am. We are Doctors and Nurses and Healthcare providers around the country. We are one of the largest groups of voters. We need cohesion, we need change, we need leaders that don't talk the talk, but walk the walk. Let's not start thinking that we can wait another year and see what Ms. Clinton's or Mr. O'Bama's stand is, we as a group should coelesse and demand that they stand up and say what we want them to say. Ms. Clinton has a good track record with one try, Mr. O'bama has a chance too. We can not afford, as healthcare providers to let another 4-8 years go by without some very serious changes in our system. I am calling for all nurses, cna's, ma, to join in this Revolution. It is time!!
