Posted almost 6 years ago I would like to know if anyone has taken the PSB "Psychological Services Bureau Aptitude Exam" , and if so what is the best way, or books to help study for this test. My school requires this test for admission into the RN program, however know one can tell me not even the school what I could start studying to prepare for this test.

| Posted over 5 years ago I've taken it and there's no way to really study for it. In fact, I had a friend that studied for months with a "study guide" and didn't fair as well as us others did without studying. If you really want a study guide, there is an E-Book you can buy and download immediately, but I think it's about $40 and I have it, it's not worth it in my opinion. You can google "PSB Study Guide" and you'll find it. It's not official though from the actual PSB people. The best study guide I could think of would be any SAT or ACT study guide that has math, reading and spelling. The hardest part of the exam is probably the spelling. If you're not good at spelling I'd suggest learning some new vocab and getting good at it. Lots of words that I didn't even know the meaning of were on the exam. It's not impossible to ace the PSB though. I scored above the 80th percentile on all areas and I'm not a genius. It's just a basic exam that examines your math, reading, spelling, and the "vocational adjustment" portion basically you just answer the questions the way that you know they want them answered. Questions like "I work well under stress" T/F? Well, I don't think they want someone who answers False in their nursing program.... |
