Posted almost 5 years ago My niece had was in an car accident with her one month old baby. They are both fine she just suffered a few scratches. She is 16 years old. She was in the car with the baby's aunt. Anyway the ambulance took her to the hospital to get checked out, they said they had to take her because she was a minor. When my sister found out about the accident she rushed to the hospital to see about her daughter and grandbaby when the triage nurse told her that when a teen has a baby she is emacipated therefore you cannot go see her. This naturally pissed my sister off and just put it this way they had to call security. I have never heard this before. Is this true or was this nurse giving false information? |

| Posted almost 5 years ago I have never heard of that either. I would love to see them try and tell me something like that. Just like any other visitor to an ER, I would think she would have the right, unless specified by the patient to see her child, regardless of whether her child is mother herself. I would contact the Head of the ER dept and ask questions. |
