So, I was wondering why did u decide to go into nursing? My friend's younger sis mentioned she wanted a job with good money....and is thinking about becoming a nurse (granted she has no experience whatso ever in the healthcare industry.) I said has gently has I could that yea u may make good money, that defiently won't keep u there, u have to love what u do to be happy. So, we'll see.

So, why did u choose nursing? I choose it b/c I like the connection u get with your patients, and u are always learning.

I decided that I want to do nursing in college because whereever I go, I will have a job and since I am the kind of person who wants to see places, I will also need the money. I also think that it will allow me to have a good deal of free time.

I decided to go into nursing because it has been something I always wanted to do.  I actually enjoyed going to work when I was a medic.  I want to feel like I am learning something everyday.  With nursing its exciting and its exciting to go to a job that you love going too.

I Choose Nursing because I like helping my residents. Even though I work in a nursing home . I still get apperciated  and respected my  Resient's family members. I can't tell you how many times I get a "thank you for taking care of my mom or dad".And the other reson why I went into nursing is because it's never boring. Something is always going on no matter what time of day it is. I love the rush and it's great. And it's even more wonderful when your Nurses tell you that your doing a good job and to keep  up the good work. It's just a great career  to get into. But I think if your goign to be in nursing no matter what your goign for like an LPN,CNA,or an RN you must like what you pick because it's a hard field and alot of sacarfice.Love what I o and wouldn't change it for the world .

i love nursing because i love to know i can help people who are not as fortunate as myself to help themselves. i enjoy doing this cos it gives me joy and inner peace. the part i love most i get to help all types off people with different needs. u know what i mean right? like people who cant eat and i help feed them, dementia clients who love to talk and love the challenge of talking to them about only their interest of topics, helping change wet diapers and replacing them with dry ones for those clients who cant help themselves. taking clients for walks or strolling them in their wheel chairs or wlking along them in scooters you know what i mean its just so fun, thats why i chose nursing

I wanted to into the nursing profession b/c I think it is a rewarding career with a lot of flexibility.  I am a person who gets bored easily and working at a job with same old "ho hum" everyday is not for me.  With nursing, I can continuously improve my skills and there is always something to learn.

I chose nursing because it was always a dream of mine.My dad always called me the girl with the heart of gold and I am such a people person. My mom's best friend was a nurse and I still remember to this day going in the hospital and telling her I want to be a nurse!I am a Cna right now doing private duty and going to school for my assotiates and I love it! Some of these people can't help themselves and I am so happy to be that helping hand. It's really not worth it if your in it for the money....These patients need people who are compassionate, patient ans selfless.I've always thought nursing was a job of service and I enjoy serving and making others happy. It's not about you but what you can do for others.

Nursing has always been something I've wanted to do. I've been told by many people that I have a caring heart and do a good job standing up for others. which are some qualities a good nurse needs. Plus the graditude you get from patients is very rewarding.

I have always been a compassionate, happy, and determined individual who has always loved science and the medical field. Even though I am finishing up my 1st semester in the RN program, with 3 more to go, I *KNOW* this is my calling; this is what I want to do. I am so thrilled to care for those in need. If I make someone's day better even with a smile, then my job is done. Nursing is a very rewarding profession, and to me, the personal satisfaction is why I am going to be a nurse. Yes, the pay is pretty good (well.. not here in Savannah so I've heard), but even if I made a teacher's salary, then I would still go into it, just for the personal satisfaction!

You got me all riled up with passion! haha

I'm so excited for the future!

I was a real estate attorney. At the time the market was lousy (like now) causing uncertainty in my earnings - so...

I had been a first aider and EMT for many years, and an Army medic. I liked the health care field, and loved being able to help people in times of illness or injury.

So I decided on nursing school, so that no matter what my other income might be, I would always have a job that could be relied on to bring in a paycheck ror my family.

And it did! Eventually the two careers combined nicely.

I chose this career (been an RN now for 25 years) because I really enjoy helping others.  I know that this sounds too cliched, but it's true.  Didn't realize it then but even in high school, I volunteered at our local hospital on the weekends as a transport aide.  I really enjoyed interacting with the patients.

It sounds rather cliche, but I have wanted to be a nurse ever since I was a little girl. There was NO educational support/encouragement  in my family as a child so I am doing it now.  I am so excited to finally be in nursing school.  I was a CNA for about 15 years, then a RMA for the past 12 years.  I enjoy helping people as well as working around people so Nursing is the career for me!

"Wanting to help people" is a bit of a cliche, but it's so true!

Having worked in the field for many years, I can easily spot the few nurses who DON'T care about helping people - the ones who got into the profession only for money or job security. They're the ones who are abrupt with patients, who just seem to care about getting through the shift.

I'm glad most of us are "people" people, who understand that everyone needs to be understood and cared for in a personal way.
