I know some hospitals offer benefits for parents that work in certain medical facilities.  For example, Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach, CA offers childcare for their employees at the hospital. http://www.hoaghospital.org/employment/Benefits.aspx.  You have to pay a fee, but how great is it to have your child close to you while you work.  You don't have to worry about them and you can check on your children anytime you get a chance.

Some places offer partial reimbursements for having their children in childcare while they work.  Some hospitals give you reimbursements for copays for your family when you see your doctor.

I've also heard ( not a fact yet) that some companies will also provide a babysitter for you when your child is sick AND run errands for you during business hours if you're working!!

The hard part is finding these places that do certain things like this for busy working families.........

Anyone know of places like these?  Anywhere?  Especially in Southern California (that's where i'm at...HAHA).......

I think it would be greatly helpful for working parents .......

Thanks!!!

VIRGINIA COMMONWEALTH UNIVERSITY HEALTH SYSTEM

EMPLOYEES 7,643

FLEX APPEAL When it comes to workplace flexibility, "satisfaction guaranteed" could be the motto of this health-care system. An overwhelming 96% of workers said that when they need time off to take care of family matters, they have their supervisors' support. Two thirds turn to various forms of flex, including adjusting their daily hours and working from home. Compressed workweeks filled a need for 30% of staffers last year.

CHILD-CARE KUDOS Three on-site child-care centers mean fewer hassles for employee parents. Each center provides daily, backup, overnight and special-needs care. Staffers whose kids aren't enrolled in one of the centers are welcome to use them on snow days and in an emergency.

LEAVES WE LOVE New moms get 12 weeks of job-guaranteed leave beyond those mandated by FMLA, with eight fully paid and four partially paid. They may then return to work on a reduced schedule.

EDUCATION ENRICHMENT The Weekend Scholars program allows employees to earn nursing degrees while working part-time and still garner full-time wages. The company prepays 100% of their tuition for up to six credits per semester, a perk that extends beyond nursing students to any employee pursuing a degree at VCU or other select area colleges.

UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN HOSPITAL AND CLINICS   EMPLOYEES 6,951

FLEX APPEAL Coordinating family needs with the ever-changing demands of a job in the health-care industry can be challenging, but employees at this hospital network get lots of help. They can log on to their company's website to change their schedules whenever the need strikes, and 69% of staffers did just that last year. Part-time schedules also help ease the burden at home: More than half of all full-timers switched to part-time work last year—some temporarily, others permanently. Employees can also elect to compress their workweeks, job-share or work from home.

CHILD-CARE KUDOS Parents can drop in on their kids at any time of day, thanks to a company-sponsored near-site child-care center. If they prefer a center that's close to home, a resource and referral service can help moms and dads find other quality day-care facilities.

LEAVES WE LOVE New moms receive 26 weeks of job-guaranteed leave, with two weeks partially paid. Dads get 12 weeks off to spend with their little ones.

TEENS & TWEENS Free one-on-one financial counseling helps parents with college-bound teens come up with a financial plan that fits. On-site college fairs and college coaches give employee kids a leg up.
