Posted almost 5 years ago hi!!! I am a filipino nurse w/o any experience. I graduated last 2007 and took the Philippine Licensure exam and passed. I am planning to take NCLEX in NY instead in the Philippines. I have a tourist visa already (considering that I have an E-passport) , am planning to visit NY for 3 mos.,(allowed stay), and will take the NCLEX exam. My concern is, do I still need to pass the ENGLISH exams before I can take NCLEX, even if I am already in NY? I believe that NY does not require a CGFNS exam but should pass CVS and VS/NY. I am hoping for any replies.. It would be of great help.. Godbless you all!!! |

| Posted almost 5 years ago you might check in with NY State Board of Nursing. They would probably be able to tell you. |

| Posted almost 5 years ago hi. correct me if i'm wrong, but i believe your question is, do you need to take the english before nclex?. well it's not a requirement to take the english exam((TOEFL or IELTS) before the nclex. as long as you have your eligibility, you can sched your exam with pearson vue. however, you will definitely have to take the english exam for the Visa Screen, before or after the nclex. Goodluck and Godbless... |

| Posted almost 5 years ago Hi, as far as I know you must take an english proficiency test if english is NOT your native language. I recommend you to contact the State Board of Nursing in NY. I hope I could help you. Have a nice day and good luck! |
