Ok what would you do in this situation - the new DON is such a pain in my ass, but I don't know what I should do.

I agreed to work additional 12 hours on Tuesday. The scheduler was trying to get me to work additional days on Wed, and Thurs, I told her I couldn't. Then toward the end of my shift the DON called me into her office, told me to sit down and she asked me "so what do you do on the weekends?" She ended up talking me into working Friday through Sunday morning. Can you believe that? What should I do?

Psychologically, physically, or emotionally? Take your pick. They tend to use whatever is on the menu to do whatever they want you to do.

I push back real hard. As a male I don't do well with talking down (doctors) and strong arming (Mgmt). I have a limit and don't mind letting anyone know when they have reaced that limit. Most of the time that ends that problem at worse it happens a lot less. I don't mind calling a doctor down because of the tone that they use with other nurses and patients.
