Posted almost 5 years ago OMG! I just walked in to my patient's room to do my 1200 assessment & saw the most hillarious sight! Here's a lady in her 40's with massive ascites, a trach & on the vent, an NGT to suction pouring out green gunk, a central line, sweaty hair & diarrhea... And then there's her husdand... He's bent over her bed... Her gown in his TEETH - shaking his head back & forth & growling like a dog...grabbing her boob! I just turned on my heel & walked out of the room...I guess she's stable & I'll assess her later. |

Posted almost 5 years ago Yup, you guys are right - a few of the other nurses on the unit were grossed out, but truly...you know your passion is still alive when you're getting it on in the ICU!

Posted almost 5 years ago Maybe on the same line. I walked to a room on a unit and 2 pairs of attends are laying next to the bed while these two residents were enjoying life. It just caught me funny taking off your diaper to do the dirty. Please don't pay any attention to my misspelled words or typos. Sorry I'll try harder next time.

Posted almost 5 years ago squirmals-that's cute! but I can top that. I worked in a LTC where a couple had "quiet time: for 1 hour whenever they wanted per management. They'd put a sign on their door and were not to be disturbed. She had lost the use of one side and he walked with a walker. What went on in there, I don't want to even think about.

Posted almost 5 years ago After 4 days off, I came back to find the most adorable "cuddle toy" in this pt's room: A pillow dressed in the husband's shirt. She's got her arms wrapped around it.
