How is pass/fail determined?

Posted almost 5 years ago Hey everyone I take my test in one week. I looked on the NCSBN website and it said that in determining pass/fail the "if at least the minimum number of items were answered and the examinee's ability to estimate was consistently above the standard over the last 60 items, they pass" then it said the same thing but if you dropped below the standard even once over the last 60 items you failed. Can anyone clarify that? Is it talking about the high/low level questions here ? If you drop below the standard once suring your test you fail? Im just confused! Thanks! |

| Posted almost 5 years ago Okay this is as much as I know from a very good source..... 60 questions are factual that you should be able to answer correctly... 15 of the questions are dummy questions... they do this to determine if they will use this questions at a later time.. after you miss any of the 60 they give you easier questions which do not account for a lot... that is why some people go into the 200 because it takes that much determination with simple question to see if they are safe... it does not always mean that if you answer 75 questions or the machines stops you will pass... it may have stopped at 75 because you missed all 75 questions... that is why no one ever knows if they passed or failed.... you could go up to 200 and still not be determined you are safe.... so in essence they make it very hard for you to know... it appears a little wild at times because they already know what you did and it would be fair if they were to just give you a pass/fail at the time but I guess that is too much like right... I was told they do that to go back over the test and see if the questions were clear since they come from a pool.... one of my peers had all chemo question and is very poor in that area went to 200 and passed... but I also know some who went to 75 and had all med/surg and failed... so its whatever they deem it to be... thats the best answer I can give you....
I dont tell God how big the storm is... I tell the storm how Big my GOD is... |
