I still have a year until I can apply to nursing school, but I want to at least get some kind of experience in the field. I am having a hard time finding volunteer work and internships that will allow me to take part without already being enrolled in nursing school. Any suggestions?!?

I would suggest checking out your local hospitals, clinics, and nursing  homes to see if they need volunteers. You might not be getting direct nursing experience, but you will be in a clinical atmosphere. And the people you work with might be able to help you out with internships once you start nurisng school.
