I got accepted to LPN Trade School its $15,000. My community college has a RN program which has a waiting list (3 years to be exact). The LPN to RN Bridge program does not have a waiting list. My plan: Do 1 year LPN then go to College for RN. My question is: Is the 1 year LPN program half of the RN college program. Will I just have 1 year of school to do LPN to RN?

Do you nurses that been through college. Does my plan make sense? Or should i travel to another state for college where RN has no waiting list? Gas prices are so high now!

No, this is the same thing I did, you start LVN school or Lpn, that is one year plus you need some pre-req I believe unless they did away with them over the last 30 years. Then you start RN but it too need pre-reqs done before you start the actual program, Micro A & P ect. Check with your school counselor, what I did was got my LVN to work and get more money then immed did my pre req classes and then started the RN program once done I got my BSN while working as an RN with AS and AA, then did the msn which I am in bridge for msn to phd now at low level of effort. At least you can work at each step with more pay, I had initially went to med school after my RN after my BSN but after 2nd yr had a baby and then 10 months later another one so I quit, oh well life goes on you do what you can keep pushing on...good luck

A busy RN is here

When I went to college for nursing over 33 years ago, LPN's still had most of the pre-reqs required for their ADN to do just like the rest of the students.  My advice is to contact the institution you're planning on attending and ask these same questions to someone who can give you the correct answers, because my answers and those of anyone else are only speculation.  From what I hear and have read, there are no ADN programs without a waiting list of at least 2-3 years

Im sorry but i really do not know the LPN course, because we do not have it here in Manila. But my opinion is you need to see your school councilor and bring out your concern, he/she might be able to assist you better than us. both have pre requisite subjects so better know it first so it will be useful for you when you jump into RN and will be credited if not then it will be a waste.

I hope you do well. geez, its just now that i heard of this waiting period to be enrolled. No wonder theres a lot of foreigners taking up nursing here. Its cheaper and more hands on.
