43 y/o married female with 3 kids here.  I'm beginning the journey to my 2nd career.  I was a Firefighter/EMT for 18 years until a knee injury sidelined me.  Worked for a bit as a Pharmacy Tech, it just isn't challenging enough and I miss the personal interaction of dealing with patients.  I've enjoyed the elderly customers we get at the pharmacy..soooo, I decided, "what the heck, I still got a lot of living to do!".

I start my first semester back to college, in years, next month. Will be working to complete my pre-reqs.  Also have gotten a job with a nice LTC only 3 miles from home.  They will give me the CNA class and help me to get certified.  If I stick with "the Plan", I should graduate with an ADN 6 months ahead of my middle child graduating high school.

I'm very excited about the new career path.  Wondering how much my EMT and PT experience will translate to the CNA and RN. The new job does have education reimbursement, I'll have to check on the ins and outs of that once I get settled.   I'm a little nervous, but look forward to getting back to a service field and meeting wonderful new people!

Anyhow, that's me in a nutshell, I've been reading this board for a bit now and seems like there's a lot of experience and some nice people!
