I hate myself so much right now! I failed the hospital program RN entrance exam. Community colleges dont guarantee you acceptance into the nursing program there is waiting lists and its very competitive. I passed the Trade school LPN entrance exam. Im just going to do the $15,000 1 year LPN program and call it quits im tired and stressed about finding a RN program and getting in. My dream is to work in pediatrics which sucks because I am hearing LPNs work in Nursing homes and the RNs get the pediatric jobs!

Calming down..................

Okay maybe i'll just do LPN and try Rue Education LPN to RN online http://www.rueed.com

or College Newtork http://www.college-net.com/adn.asp online LPN to RN program?

You are not stupid, so quit saying that.  Go on to LPN school and then try for RN school.  In some cases you will be one up on some of the other students.  I was an LPN for 26 years before I finished my degree.  I wasn't stupid, I was just on the 50 year program.

I started out in pediatrics when I graduated LPN school and there is always room for more good LPN's.  It just depends on where you are and what their requirements are.

There are many good schools to transition to RN.  Don't automatically do the RUE program, check them all out.  There may be one that is more suited to what you want.

Good luck.  You will make it if you make your mind up to.

Everyone makes mistakes and  does not score as they would like.Negative comments to yourself is not going to help you.Go on to thru w/ the LPN program, then proceed for your RN.I f you really do not feel that is the road you are to take, the try for another school, or wait to reatke the test. You have to learn from this, study and bring yourself up, not make yourself feel worse and tear yourself down!!!Good luck, and you are not stupid, so stop the insanity!!God bless........

Dont feel bad! I am in the same boat as you except I passed the entrance exam for RN program at Conemaugh but there was something they didnt like about me in the interview which made me not be accepted. My decline letter was something to the affect of " Not enough seats in the program and I should persue other schools".  I decided that this was not the end that I WILL be an RN one day.  I feel as though LPN is a stepping stone something that I need to experience.  I figure it may be easier to get into an RN program once I am an LPN.  Look at this as a blessing you still have option of becoming a nurse.   Good Luck to you!!

You can work in pediatrics as an LPN. I did for 4 & 1/2 years. I worked in an office. You are not stupid. Can you retake the test? And when you retake it, don't stress. Don't question your answers. Pick the best one and move on.

p.s. You did not fail. You just figured out one way not to do it.

Hey,

Stay positive. do you know what areas you were weak in? address your weak areas and try again. Or get your LPN and then go back to school.  If you go that route, you'll have alot of experience going into RN school. But stay focused on your ultimate goal. You seem to already have the passion to be a nurse and that's important. There are plenty of book smart people who are horrible nurses.

Like I said , work on your weak areas and go for it again. We need more passionate nurses. just don't give up.

Don't get discouraged ,Keep your head up :o)
