LPN Degree vs. LPN Diploma

Posted almost 5 years ago I am considering an LPN program as a bridge to an RN degree. Right now I can't go to traditional nursing school due to taking care of my grandma, among other things. But I do need a well-paying job fairly quickly. Being an EMT is great, I've loved it since I was 16. But it just doesn't pay enough and I have always wanted to be a nurse...someday. So my question is this...does it really matter to employers and the pay whether you're an LPN by AAS degree or diploma with no degree? Also, would I still be eligible for the LPN to RN bridge programs with a diploma instead of a degree? I don't know if it depends on what state I'm in, but I'm in Virginia. THANKS FOR ANY INFO.!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

| Posted almost 5 years ago Employers dont care whether your a LPN by AAS degree or LPN diploma with no degree? They ONLY care if you have a LPN license or NOT! LPNs dont need a degree. The AAS degree LPNs get is a degree they can put towards RN. Colleges offer LPN diploma programs anyway so when you think about it. .......its the same thing TRY these LPN one year schools
