lets say i go to a cc and pass the nclex and all, and if another person pass the nclex but from a more prestigues college, will the employer look at that as a sign of who to choose?

and a more questions, i didnt want to fill the board up with my names

how hard or easy was it to get a job as soon as you gradute, what your pay with your aa if you dont mind putting

i am also kinnda nervious im gong to be the only make student with a bunch of females, and no offence but males and females just dont talk the same, men commuate info and straight to the point and females... well everything till theres no more left to talk about it... no offence just a joke.so how would a a female feel if she saw a guy nurse, would she think im gay etc.. and if any males have any story about this sistuation can you tell.

Well, I am female, so I can only imagine what it would be like being the only male with a group of females, but as for the community college thing.....1) the NCLEX is the NCLEX is the NCLEX. All grads of a RN program take the same exam. 2) Unless you tell them, no one will know where you graduated from. 3) the majority of RN's in my area are grad from a 2 year program 4) If you are that concerned about lack of respect in the work place, then why not do a 4 year program.

One more thing.....When I was doing the hiring at a past position, I looked at the experience and took into consideration the interview and not necessarily the degree. If an employer is looking only at a person's degree, then you need to question whether or not you even want to accept a position with them. A degree does not make a good nurse!

When i was the nursing supervisor at a home care agency we did not even pay attention to the school. We looked at the experience, the interview.I think the fact that it is a community college vs a big named school is more of a personal issue you are having with yourself, it doesn't matter in the long run, other than saying, i went to such and such school.
