Hi everyone! I am new to this site, I actually only found it by chance, but I am so glad I did. I have so many questions! I am currently a Certified Medical Assistant who just finished up her Associates Degree in Business online. I am currently working on my Bachelors degree in Long term care administration. I have always wanted to be a nurse and eventually become an administrator in a nursing home (preferrably Alzheimers). Anyway, I am only 2 of about 15 people in my current program that is not already a nurse. I feel really out of place and wonder if I've gone the right path to my career goals. I wonder if I'll even be able to find a job without a nursing degree. So, I would like to go to nursing school, but I'm not sure how much more schooling I need to get my RN or if I should first get my LPN. Like I said, I have my Associates Degree, which I think is all the prerequisites to an RN program, and I am currently in statistics which I think is part of an RN program too. Does anyone know which would be the most productive route to go, LPN or right on to my RN??

A LTC nurse administrator...what a good idea! I'd go RN and get lots of education in geriatrics/gerontology -
Better yet, get your masters, become a Geriatric NP and then move to administration!

I am new to this site, and found it by looking for a receptionist job in the healthcare feild. I am currently in a two year college taking my prerequisites for nursing, then will transfer to a four year college and take the actual nursing classes. I am just a little confused on what type of nursing I want to do. I decided to do nursing for my grandmother but didn't think that should be the only reason for taking it. I mean why should you do something if you dont really want to do it; you should find something that makes you happy. Well, I like helping people out, and making sure people are okay, i love children, and animals, and like most people, I want to make a difference in this world, and make it a better place. I just dont know where to start; so If someone here could help me figure things out and help me get started that would be great. I have been doing research on nursing and the types of nursing but I know that there is alot more out there. Well I have to get back to my class, Biological Principles... Thanks

To anyone that can help;
My name is Jennifer. I'm 32 years old and a single mother of four. I'm new to this site. It's been a life long dream of mine to become a nurse and now that my youngest is in kindergarten and my olders is getting ready to graduate from high school in two years, It's time for me to put my dream in motion. I just don't know where to start. I know I want to be an E.R. or Trauma nurse. possibly even O.B. G.Y.N. I need help (grants) to pay for some or all of this. I am a single mother of four! Money is VERY tight for me. I have no prior experance in this feild. To tell you the truth, I have my G.E.D. That's it. Any advice would be great. Thanks
