Does anyone know of a 2 year (ADN) RN program that does not have a waiting list?  I want to go somewhere in southern California, but it seems like every school has a waiting list.  HELP!

Hi, I am in Northern California and there is a waiting list also..  Kind of Sucks because you don't know what your chances are to get in the program.

That's the whole reason I left my home of Southern California. I ended up just getting a general degree and am doing an ABSN program because I just couldn't wait around for that long. Maybe try somewhere close like AZ? or even NV? I completely understand not wanting to leave though.

Everything worth having is worth waiting for. Try Antelope Valley and/or Bakersfield CC.  If you are an LVN, you could also try getting you ADN online.

I am going to LATTC community college in Los Angeles Califr, they say, the waiting list is one semester, try there. I hope I am not to late, this post was six months ago.

I am a proud mother of three beautyful daughter. I currently live in Los Angeles California. I've worked as a heathecare provider for almost 10 years. I am curently in school to pursue my MSN in nursing, and wants to work as a pediactric nurse, in public health.

I posted this in the California nurses group and have not gotten a reply so I will try posting here.

My fiance has an opportunity to get a really good job in Southern Cal (my hometown).  We live in Washington right now and am finishing up my pre-req's for the nursing program here.  I am trying to see if any of my classes will transfer, but schools won't talk to me over the phone, only in person.  We are on a quarter system here and California is on a semester program.  It sounds to me that schools there won't take that.  In the fall I will have my AA degree.  I may wait and get my nursing education here and transfer my license to California, but I hate to make my fiance lose out on a really good job.  Any ideas?  This might be more of a pain than it's worth.  Is it easier to get in with a BSN program?

Also what is Arnold's plan for the nursing shortage and education?  I have heard that there will be changes starting next year.  Thanks!

PS.  We have a waiting list here in Washington but it's 8 months to a year.

Well first of all in today's economy I wouldn't allow him to pass up the job.  Most places I know of, it's not the semester, it's the grades and credits which matter.  You may have to make a bunch of appointments and fly down there to find anything out.  Worth a try I'd say.

Yeah that is for sure, especially when the job is in global energy.  I am going to have to plan a trip I suppose.  Thanks!
