I am a current nursing major in St. Louis and have been trying to get back into school for the fall and have exhausted all of the usual options that students take in order to get financial aid. I am a junior college level student and all of our classes have to be paid for up front. The problem is that I cannot get financial aid because my school only considers me a general student, not a full-time student and they say that they cannot classify me as full time until they get my transcript. I cannot give them my transcript because I owe a $3700 debt to the university I attended previously, which I just do not have the income to pay off (it has been two years since I accrued this debt and they are unwilling to take a payment plan; they want the entire sum or they will continue to hold the transcript). I cannot get a federal loan because they will send it to my school, however they will withhold it from me because they do not give financial aid to anyone not a traditional student. I do not qualify for private loans because I do not have a credit history, no steady employment history, nor anyone that can be a cosigner (because everyone I know has credit problems in some way or another). Scholarships haven't worked either as I've applied to several and not gotten a single one (and at this late date is too much of a gamble). Are there any alternate methods I can use to getting money for school, any programs, etc that I can participate in and still go to school this semester?
