Hi, I have made up my mind and I am going back to school for my RN here in NC at a community college.I have to take some pre-rec classes before I can apply for the ADN program though ,so it'll be 2010 until I can apply .I have been married for almost 15 years and have three children 14,10,and 2.I'm very nervous seeing  that I'm 36 and going back to school but I love working in the hospital and helping the patients and their families.

DLana

I was a home health aid, a LPN ,I went for my RN ,ASN then my BSN. I'm still in school off and on. I plan to get my Masters in Public Health. Go for it, stay focused  and don't let anyone discourage you.

Good Luck :o)

Dlana don't be nervous about going back to school. You'll do fine. I was 40 when I started working on my prereqs and 45 when I finished. It's very hard, but very well worth it.

Good luck to you. I'm from NC too.

DLanna nothing to be nervous about, I just finished my LPN this summer and start ADN on monday. I am 46 and not the oldest in my class. In my LPN program the average age was 35 so chances are that there will be others in a similar situation in your class. Your life experiences will help you greatly in critical thinking skills. Have confidence and YES it is hard but well worth the sacrifices. Good Luck. Mike
