Good morning,

I just joined Nursing Link this morning, in part because I have not explored social media before and decided this is where I would start. I also plan to give Twitter a try.

I am a 56 year old, diploma prepared RN, who went back and got a BSN about 5 years ago now. My experience is 98% Operating Room/Surgical Services, and 2% Clinical Informatics. I plan to go back to school for an MSN as soon as I decide which program is for me. I have had a variety of positions within Surgical Services, including Staff Nurse, Educator, "Head Nurse" (does anyplace use that term anymore..LOL), Supervisor, Manager, and Director. I have my CNOR specialty certification, as well.

Since the early 90s I have also had a strong "geek streak", which I have fed over the years. That streak has resulted in my current position, Director of Clinical Informatics. I miss the OR though I do stay current with it, but am loving the new challenges I have.

I am in Ohio, but am hoping to move to NC sometime in the not too distant future. I keep an eye on job postings from the Raleigh/Durham area, just in case. :)

Oh, and the 1973 in my name relates to my nursing school graduation year, not my birth year. I look forward to getting to know you!
