I am a nursing student now, but I really want to work in a pediatric doctors office when I graduate. I'm not really sure if they would hire someone with no experience. Is it easier to get on at a hopsital or doctors office?

I figured I would just start somewhere and work my way to a doctors office after I had more experience.

Most doctors' office will use MAs rather than nurses unless it is a very arge office.

Your best bet will be to try the M.D. offices.  I dont know of any hospitals that use MA on the floor, but I know you can get a job in a pediatric MD office.

Many Dr offices don't hire nurses because of the pay. They hire MA to do the same work for lesser pay. But there is still a possibility of getting hired into an office.

I'm a bit old school and would advise new nurses to get some good solid hospital training and experience behind you. It builds confidence and teaches a new nurse how to prioritize and organize..You can then move out to independant work areas with alot of clinical strength and critical thinking skills behind you.

I'd get a good foundation in a hospital doing med/surg. Most hospitals have preceptor programs for new grads.Md offices, as many have said don't pay or simply use MA's .

My first job as an LPN out of school was in a doctor's office. After about 6 months, I went to work for a peds office. Apply and see what happens. Everybody needs to start somewhere. I can tell you, the pay won't be great.

I worked in a pediatric office right out of LPN school. The pay was less but the benefits were alot better. I truly enjoyed working there.
