Posted over 4 years ago I just took the med surg one. At my school our med surg classes are broken up into 3 classes. I just took the last two this summer and those sections I did ok on. But for the 1st med surg class I took I did not do well on those questions. I took it last fall and I had a final the next day and I just did not have time to review the older material. So if you could skim through your book before you take it then you should be ok. I bought the Hesi book for other Hesi's like OB and it did not help me at all. But it may help you because some people said that it did.

Posted over 4 years ago I found the NCLEX books to be your best resource for Hesi. My classmates and I were told to start w/ 50 questions a day, then work your way up to say, 200 a day. That is what we did from day one and all passed the Hesi and the NCLEX.

Posted over 4 years ago I would probably try an NCLEX review book with practice questions and rationales with the answers. Mine were broken up into categories, so if you only needed med/surg it would be easy to just focus on those sections. Is it normal now to have to take multiple HESI exams? I only had to take one that covered everything at the very end of my school (and this wasn't so long ago.. in 06.)

Posted over 4 years ago Yes, it is normal now or at least at my school. I just started my program and I already that I will have to take the HESI in Dec 08, May 09, Aug 09, Dec 09 and May 10. My program says it will prepare us for the NCLEX. I just took my first Patho test Thursday and am still tired.
