Posted almost 5 years ago Within the past year, our hospital implemented a "rapid response team".Do others have tis in your hospital?I have heard from other nurses they do, and it seems each are ran differently, and utilized differently.I would like to get information from others on theirs and how it "works" |

| Posted almost 5 years ago We had a rapid response team at the hospital I was working at. If you have something that going on with your patient and not doing real well, and you just can't put your finger on what's going on, you call a rapid response. Or even it it happens quickly. The team consists of a respiratory therapist, a CCU nurse and the nursing supervisor. I've heard it works very well. I never had to call rapid response so I can't speak from experience. The hospital I work at now calls it a code green. I'm not real sure how there's works or who is on the team. |

| Posted almost 5 years ago The hospital that I work at uses the CAT code. It stands for critical assessment team. We have an ICU nurse, house supervisor and resp therapy person show up. The last time I called one, the only one that showed up was the respiratory person and I had to call and send a personal invite to the others. It seems that they didn't hear it over the speaker. Any way in most cases I have found that they do a good thing and we save a lot of time because we can then get hold of the doctor and tell him exactly what is happening. In lots of cases the doctor will just transfer to the unit and since the nurse is already there from the urnit a lot of time and communication is saved. At least we have a CODE CAT where I read some places have a CODE RAT which is Rapid Assessment Team. I'd rather be a cat than rat any old day. |
