I am a women's health and could not find a group that dealt with women's health so I made one. I work on postpartum also in addition to the Children's unit of our hospital. I plan on training in Labor and Delivery when I finish my RN. This has been a dream for several years.

Hi!

Women's Health is also my dream, although I'm more on the other side of it... I'm more interested in helping women BEFORE they have their kids, reproductive health and such :)

On my unit all we get are women and children and as I mentioned in the previous post I get to work Postpartum from time to time. Our main patients are post hysterectomies. We typically don't take patients that have infectious diseases due to it being a pedi floor as well and postpartum extends down one side of the unit. I have always wanted to work in Labor and Delivery and have recently been thinking of becoming a Certified Nurse Midwife. I would love to open some kind of a birthing center here. But this is a small town and everyone goes to the hospital to deliver so it probably would not fly here. Not too many people delivering at home unless they don't make it to the hospital in time. I would also like to eventually teach child birth classes and lactation classes.

I am actually a LVN but I love it. I am working on my RN now so I can get into L&D. Nothing personal against men but I just love having only women for patients.
