There is a growing tend of new mothers hiring wet nurses to breastfeed their newborns. What does everyone think of theis trend? Would you consider it for your own newborn?

Hell no! The emotional, spiritual, cultural and personal family beliefs would fly out the window. What about the mother and child bond that is so moving and unconditional, no matter what may happen? I would be shattered if anyone even offered this to me if i happened to fall pregnant again.

I don't know it seems pretty rational to me - I mean we don't shirk at the idea of nannies, why freak out about wet nurses. Aren't people losing that same bond when they aren't with their child during the day when they are 0ne or two years old - what's the difference with wet nursing?

Who could even think of allowing another woman to do this for their child? I have four children and regret not being able to breast feed the first three. The bond that my forth child an I share is so special. I breast fed him for two years and it broke my heart to see him cry when I weined him. He's five now and I think he would of still been breast feeding if I would of let him!
