Psych. and more psych. I always wanted to work in a jail or prison. Now, here I am in jail. No get out of  jail free card either. I did collect $200.00. I get to work in the jail and with psych. I will stay in psych. That and teach part-time. love both.

I  worked on a med surg/oncology/dialysis floor for 3 years. I liked working with the oncology patients, but it was often heart breaking watching them deteriorate and then eventually losing them. Med Surg is a very hard floor to work on and very stressful. I never really liked working on the floor.

I now work in the OR and I am really liking it. Only been there 6 weeks now and still lots to learn. It is stressful too, but in a different kind of way. Not much personal contact with the patient, b/c they are sleeping most of the time I spend with them. I have to watch out and make sure the patient is taken care of while they sleep and keep them safe.

Let's see.....LTC as a CNA for almost 2 years......Med/Surg as LPN for 6 months....Peds for 14 years give or take and LPN and RN with a 10 month "vacation" from peds in PACU for a plastic surgeon. I love the peds and hated the PACU.

Okay..well, started out as a "candy striper"  (LOL) for a year...then worked in a LTC as a CNA for 1 yr,  on the post-partum floor (also as a CNA/PCA for 4 yrs) then worked on peds for a year as a PCA during my last year of nursing school.  6 months in L&D as an RN, then went to the NICU for 8 yrs,  did PRN work at a home health agency for a year.  Now working towards becoming a Lactation Consultant!!  Can't wait for that.
