Posted over 5 years ago Well I got my results, and I failed the NCLEX-PN. I feel horrible, and I'm wondering whether or not I should just stay as a CNA forever. This sucks - has anyone been in a similar position? I'm seeking a major pick me up please!!! |

| Posted over 5 years ago Hey, I hear the test is really tough now. Don't give up. You should be given a breakdown of where you missed the questions. That should help for the next time you take it. Get yourself a good review book. |

| Posted over 5 years ago I failed and am getting ready to schedule another test (RN). I felt the same way. But the boards are harder this year and the percentage grade to pass is higher also. I think they change the test every three years. We asre the lucky ones to do it. Don't give up or think you can not do it because you can! I have the Kaplan review books. They are really helpful. The website is www.kaplantesting.com. You can do tests online and stuff there too. Hope this helps you and good luck to all!! |

| Posted over 5 years ago i failed the nclex-rn more than 4 times. but it doesnt mean i am quitting. i just need to study more and answer more practice questions. i know it's embarassing for other people to say that they failed the exam 5 times or more but who cares? just like bj, i have a very high test anxiety. i guess i just have to do better next time and take the test aniety out. any tips from anyone pls? and also, i got negative comments from a lot of people but i don't take that to bring me down, i take that to encourage me more. i know it feels degrading and discouraging sometimes but through prayers and more hard work everything will pay-off. each and everyone of us has its own purpose and God has a plan for each and everyone of us. |

It depends a lot on the policies of the State you are applying to. I don't think you have to pay again, you just have to get a new Authorization To Test. But check with your Board to find out for sure; I may be wrong on this. I'd take an NCLEX review course before trying again. You should have been sent a report highlighting your weak areas: focus on those for study. |

| Posted about 5 years ago sinimin said: Oh my, don't think that way! I just read Kaplan and when I got to the chapter on retaking the test, I considered myself done with the book. I'll read it if I need to but am not ever planning on opening that chapter. I have to go into this with a positive attitude, so don't even think about that until you have to cross that bridge. Go for one and only time...then take it from there. I'm not dogging anyone, I just have to be positive. I don't want to give myself any other choices, but to pass. Please don't pay any attention to my misspelled words or typos. Sorry I'll try harder next time. |

| Posted about 5 years ago I was just today looking for info in NCLEX-PN testing in IA and found that this year the test IS harder...the standards are higher. I graduate May 5 and I am scared to death to take the exam. I do really well on exams at school but when I do all the NCLEX study questions I bomb out....if I don't pass the first time I will just keep trying....don't give up, you've come too far and have too much invested in yourself to not keep going for it! Good Luck! Stacie |

| Posted about 5 years ago kendbeef: If your program has been using NCLEX style questions on your exams, then you will know what to expect on the NCLEX. Ask your instructors. Take a review course. Get a good night sleep before the exam, and eat a good breakfast. Don't read into the questions things that aren't there, or make assumptions about what the questions means. Get yourself in practice mode for NCLEX now: it will probably help you on your PN exams, too. Take 10 NCLEX questions from a study book, and give yourself a fifteen minute time limit (1.5 minutes per question). Hide the answers from yourself. Highlight key words in the question, like "First priority, most important, etc. Sketch out what you think the answer should be, then look at the answers. Remember, if part of the answer is untrue, the whole answer is wrong. It will come down to 2 choices. Do this every day until you are getting at least 8/10 right every time. Then speed it up: 10 questions in 14 minutes, then 13, then 12, etc. You'll get into a groove and won't have time to think about being anxious. |

| Posted about 5 years ago It should be fine to re-submit our info. If you want to be sure, call your board of nursing. They shoud be able to give you the low down. And good luck on the re-take. You know that you have the info in your head, just take a deep breath and relax. The answers will come to you! |

| Posted about 5 years ago I have recently failed the nclex and i was wondering how long you have to wait to take it again? Can I start the process to reschedule a test now or do I have to wait? I can't believe that I didn't pass and now I have to tell everybody that asks that I failed, how humiliating! Thanks. |

| Posted about 5 years ago Jpbkmm73, it may differ from state-to-state. As shan4691 suggested above, contact your state board of nursing to find out the time frame. Where I live it's 6 weeks. |

| Posted about 5 years ago I imagine that would be difficult. I'm not sure how I would have handled your situation. Sounds like you need to actually call your state board. |

| Posted about 5 years ago I fortunately passed my boards on the first try. I was so relieved. It was very a very stressful time. I really don't don't what I would have done if I had failed. My heart goes out to you. Just don't give up. . I agree with RNdude, I'm sure there is a phone number on the web site you can call and find out.
