Posted over 4 years ago I don't know about ya'll, but we have a problem with teamwork in our facility. Everyone seems to be out for themselves. I am trying to get everyone to work together but I am at my wits end. Any Advice? "There are those that look at things the way they are, and ask why? I dream of things that never were, and ask why not."

| Posted over 4 years ago I think that it is that way everywhere...my office is the same way...too many times I hear that isn't my job... I do my best to help everyone regardless of which dept they work in. All I can offer as advice, continue with a positive, team friendly attitude. Maybe in time if you continue to be a team player, those around you will start as well. |

| Posted over 4 years ago Even when the going gets tough i keep on going. I try to show the staff appreciation. I thank them for their hard work. Once a month I do a CNA appreciation dinner, and we have a core values box that I put names into. I work side by side with the CNA's and I show them that if they need anything I am there. I don't scream and yell at them and I respect them with everything I have. Sometimes, the attitudes are so bad though. One girl told me she doesn't care about this and that because of this andthis and that person is this ........etc. I couldn't help myself I told her you know I respect how you feel and I'll help you in anyway that I can, but when we are here it isn't about us. It is about the patients. If and we aren't okay how can we care for our patients. I asked her to take a break and get off the floor for a little while until she calmed down. She cussed me out... told me to go to hades and everything else. "There are those that look at things the way they are, and ask why? I dream of things that never were, and ask why not."

| Posted over 4 years ago You see that anywhere you go and it is unfortunate. No one wants to take that extra step and go the extra mile. the other day I had a nurse get mad at me for taking pts to breakfast!!!! We were short and I had 1:1 pts and my techs were tied up so I took them. I didnt leave her with any of my work in fact I always prep and do extra things for 1st because I get bored and I believe we should try and help each other, but she got MAD!!!!! It does suck as a CNA in LTC because the work is very back breaking. I started at 17 as CNA and have messed my back up because people needed to be cared for and no one would help. I truly sympathise and wish I was there to help you. |

| Posted over 4 years ago Most of the CNA's I work with love me because I do respect them. I was a CNA so I can empathize with their workload. And I am always helping. But some people just look at you like nurse's don't have anything to do. I had a pt with SOB and sats 84-88% on RA and the girls were mad because I walked past a call light. I mean come on. "There are those that look at things the way they are, and ask why? I dream of things that never were, and ask why not."
