| Posted almost 5 years ago Picking Sarah Palin was the BEST move the party could have made! I was there when he introduced her to Dayton, OH (my hometown). Sarah Palin is tough as nails, compassionate, and loves her country. She at least has done something with her life (mayor and govenor) instead of campaigning to be President. As far as the comment about Palin not letting women have choice over their bodies: please! Women have choice to not get pregnant! Abortion should not be birth control! Gov. Palin does believe in the exception where the mother's life is in danger, abortion should be an option. I agree with her on this point. Having known so many couples who want to adopt, abortion prevents this from happening. Go Google abortion and see pictures of fetuses dismembered, including being beheaded, and tell me how this is good for America. We have our own Holocaust in this nation and it's Roe vs. Wade and 40,000,000 abortions in 35 years. |

| Posted almost 5 years ago so what if Bristol Palin is pregnant? She obviously made the choice to keep the baby, when she NO DOUBT, could have gone to Planned Parenthood in Alaska and had an abortion without her parents knowing. Give Bristol credit for valuing life instead of hiding it from her parents. I'm surprised you all aren't jumping on Gov. Palin for giving birth to Trig (Down's baby). You all probably think he should have been an abortion. Fair notice - those of you who continue to bash Palin and her family who are on my friend list will be deleted. You don't see me bashing Obama and his family. |

"but the FACT is that Obama DID refuse to shake the hand or even MEET a single soldier (I certainly hope you aren't refering to the ficticious email that was and is still floating around), it is not our troops fault they are there, they are fighting to keep us safe, to snub his nose at them like he is blaming THEM for being in a war he disagrees with is MY problem with him. You can spin it as Washington does.. .I'm not spinning it, it simply is not true, he did not snub/refuse to meet troops- watch the news, and he has never blamed the troops- in fact the beauty of this war vs. Vietnam is Americans are behind the troops- not supporting the war does not mean you do not support the troops nor does it mean you are not patriotic...statements like these only fan the flames of ignorance |

| Posted almost 5 years ago Obama is NOT bringing the troops home. He has already said that he is sending them into Afghanistan. Let me repeat that HE WILL BE SENDING THEM INTO AFGHANISTAN. Sorry, but If my husband has to go off to either Iraq or Afghanistan, due to recall, I will feel much more confident if McCain was in charge. You are buying into a falsehood, if you think we will not have troops deployed no matter who is in charge. |

| Posted almost 5 years ago "The best way I can support our troops is to fight to bring them home, not keep them there for the next 50 to 100 years as McCain has suggested will likely be necessary... similar to Korea. Somehow, I don't it will be like Korea because of the extremist fundamentalists in the area. But, clearly, McCain has no intention of bringing the troops home" That's a partial quote from Rusty. Obama plans on withdrawing troops from Iraq over 16 months and sending in 2 more brigades to Afghanistan. So, I'll repeat, under either president troops will be overseas. If my husband gets recalled to go to the sandbox, I will feel much more confident if McCain is in charge. BTW, my husband also supports John McCain. |

| Posted almost 5 years ago Kayakrn: I am NOT referring to ANY news when I speak about Obama refusing to shake any of our troops hand, I heard it directly from my cousin via email to me, they took photos of Obama passing all the troops to go to a secure area he never came out to shake a hand or say boo, as I said, I got it from the horses mouth I saw the photos of the troops lined up and Obama going past and never stopping. I rarely watch the news it is all spin city and I refuse to listen, the points i posted from Obamas book it turns out are mostly completely accurate as I have since learned from the book itself, some things were taken out of context but the meaning as a whole was still bad news and he was NOT a child when he wrote it. My daughter too just returned in one piece after a year. We still have much family over there, no one wants too loose any more of our loved ones, they are keeping us safe from harm and free, I would much rather have Mc Cain leading those efforts than Obama, and guess what THAT is MY opinion if you do not like my opinion, please do NOT let the door of this post hit you in the butt as you leave! | Posted almost 5 years ago I think that his choice is a kick in the face to all women. I think that this is just another way of him saying to women that we have no brains. He simply picked this airhead because she is female. Anyone who knows Clinton knows there is no comparison between these two women.
Ginny Do you think Clinton is a woman??? That is what you wrote, you must be more descriptive than that. I don't understand??? As you would say, What are you saying? DUH?????????? You must be an air head, she got rid of more corruption in the state of Alaska and wants to get rid of corruption in Washington, Go you lipstick pitbull!!!!! |

| Posted almost 5 years ago rusty stated... It was the liberal hippies and college students (some older, yes) of the 60s, along with adequate media coverage, who forced the hand of the American government to end Vietnam War (the American War, as it is known in Vietnam). It was these people that got 2.5 million killed when we left Vietman. This will happen again if we leave prior to cleaning up where we are now, we need to ensure they are ready to run Iraq. I agree I would rather have McCain than Obama in charge of the military, scares me to have Obama as my daughter commander in cheif. With Obamas trip over seas he was to stop at my daughters base in Germany to visit the wounded but changed his mind. He claimed he wouldn't stop there because it would look political. Seems if he cared for the soldiers he would have stopped no matter what it looked like, it would have been the right thing. Stop by and tell the kids thanks. Please don't pay any attention to my misspelled words or typos. Sorry I'll try harder next time. |

May want to check Pentagon statement- it was not his choice not to visit, he was asked not to...and it would be the same for either candidate "damned if you do damned if you don't.... thanks. |

| Posted almost 5 years ago Could you please give a source for the Pentagon Statement? These contradict your input... http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/Vote2008/Story?id=5449455&page=1 http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/07/26/obama.troops/ My understanding was he couldn't visit with his 'campaign staff'' because campaigning isn't allowed on U.S. Military installations, but he would be welcomed with the Secret Service and/or his Senate Staff. This is a fact that He would have known if he was more experienced, and had spent more time visiting troops. |

What she did for Alaska? What she did for Alaska is to support a group who wanted Alaska to secede from the United States and became its own country. Now, tell me, how patriotic and American is this?
This was her husband's ideals, not hers; look it up. After reading posts like yours I wouldn't blame them for wanting to secede. PS. You need to learn present, past and future pretenses (from the uneducated instructor) PSS. It’s become, not became |

| Posted almost 5 years ago There are others congressmen that travel there to visit our troops, why would the Pentagon keep him out? The Pentagon denies Obamas claims. Obamas campaign has made eleven different excuses why they did not make the visit to Landstuhl so the truth is not known. Please don't pay any attention to my misspelled words or typos. Sorry I'll try harder next time. |

| Posted almost 5 years ago Again, the troops planned on meeting with Obama, they were ll told he was coming, it is silly to say that he was told by his staff that he could not come to visit the troops that is more spin, I have sources in the pentagon, in secret service and family that was THERE waiting to great him, he WAS there and did not meet with any of the troops, you can spin this until you make a quilt and it does NOT change the facts. Please do not be so blind that YOU believe everything you hear from Obamas camp, Squimals you are right the pentagon WOULD NOT keep him out and they DID not, he did that and after the fall out of reactions as the troops sent messages to family and the press got hold and Obamas camp heard they HAD to start the spin machine. I am NOT so blind I believe all the spin from either camp, but verifiable facts are facts not spin. This is just One of many problems I have with Obama but this one is in the top 5 right now. Again I am still waiting to hear about issues on both sides. A busy RN is here |

| Posted almost 5 years ago I am addressing more than one person here but you should be able to recognize who I am speaking to.
First, show me where I called you stupid? No one called you stupid for your opinion or for anything else for that matter. However, I see other name calling on here; such as closed minded, children, shit slingers, idiot, etc. When you begin to post such things as Obama is an Antichrist and misinformation such as posting him as a Muslim (and not knowing a thing about the Muslim belief system) you then leave yourself wide open to criticism. Not judgment, but criticism. You bet I slammed about spelling and grammar. Take a look at that post again. The current president’s name is not spelled like the name of the beer. In addition, if you are bragging of your GPA and are teaching our children than you need to know how to spell and know basic grammar rules regardless of how fast you type or how passionate you are. No where did I address your abilities as an NP. I did say God help us because of your apparent lack of understanding of the patients you could possibly take care of and their needs. Since you brought it up, it is track, not tract. For the teacher and the NP it is judgmental, not judgemental and compassionate, not compassionate. Now, for all of my current and future students who are on here, beware of checking your papers for accurate information, grammar, spelling and legitimate references.

| Posted almost 5 years ago This is MY opinion on your post CD: I think talking Politics and Religion is difficult, I try and stay out of such topics at home and with friends. Healthy debate is a good thing but here it has turned ugly. I do NOT agree that someone should be called stupid or a reference to them being stupid or put down because of a spelling error on these posts, when you are typing fast because you are passionate about what you are saying mistakes can be made, this is NOT school we are NOT children and YOU are NOT our teacher! People have the right to speak there opinion without fear of retribution from ANYONE! I admit I am careless when typing, because I was attacked for not spelling American with a capital A which got very nasty and silly, insinuating I was less than or less an American because of a grammatical error, this is ridiculous. Picking fights with people is a waste of time, you are a democrat and you have the right to YOUR opinion, but so do those who support Mc Cain, since you DO NOT support Mc Cain one must wonder WHY you are even on this post?? Is it to be the grammar police? To presume that someone who makes a grammatical error here would somehow not be able to care for her patient's is a leap wider than the grand canyon. Let us play nice children, this is a site for fun we really are all adults we have parent's we have teachers we do NOT need the grammar police! Lighten up. A busy RN is here |

| Posted almost 5 years ago Let me preface this by saying my spelling and typos are atrocious and abominable. I am not a teacher, nor a typist. So cdnurse please take this with a grain, re-spelling errors ...cd please check the following on YOUR posts page 3, ahd should be had? wed-lock should be wedlock? page 4 (twice) Regan should be Reagan, and importan should be important page 5 wre should be are? and lastly on page 7 differnt should be different? and judgemnent should be judgement. I'm just as guilty of typos and mispellings, but the point I'm trying to make is we all are! |

| Posted almost 5 years ago I am very saddened by the posts that I see here. I am picking up on so many things that are not painting a very pretty picture of the nursing profession. It seems in the three topics here on the political discussion that there is no discussion. We can not all be Democrats and we can not all be Republicans. We can all be a little more professional and open minded. We can all be more open to constructive criticism. I am in amazement of what everyone has stooped to here. I agree with deb, this is all ridiculous and so unprofessional. If you can’t take it, don’t dish it out is what I was taught. .

Are you kidding me? Now, speaking of childish, or as someone on here so aptly stated “the pot calling the kettle. .. “ You actually went through looking for typos and spelling errors? The point that you are missing is this: you all set yourselves up with your sanctimonious spouting off. I am picking up on a tremendous amount of ignorance, (do not be offended, if you went to more than one year of college you know ignorant does not equal stupid), hatred, bigotry and self-righteousness. Please take a long hard look at all of these posts. I will not be back here at all. I am retired and I thought that his would be a fun spot to relax and stay informed. It is obvious that the majority of you are not informed. |
