Excuse me but you conservatives want LESS regulation, and MCCAIN is quoted as saying we need less regulation in Washington, of course then this happens, and all of a sudden it is good to have regulation. You can't have it both ways.  This is why MCCAIN can not and will not win on Nov 4, 2008 is because he just can't keep it straight. Well I should say his campaign managers are idiots and have ruined any chance of him winning.

I am a registered independent and ashamed to admit I voted for Bush 8 years ago, however I can not vote for McCain. I had always like John McCain until now. He is a mud slinger and I have never liked that no matter who it is about. We need to know what he plans to do and I am sorry he has missed the mark. And picking Sarah Palin just didn't do what he had hoped it would do and that is get womens votes. He thinks women are stupid doesn't he. She is alright, not VP material but I like her okay. Maybe she will someday be our first women president who knows, but she will not be the first women VP, not this year anyway

Didnt you look at the link I posted that showed the letter McCain was BEGGING to regulate Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac?  His signature is right across from Ms. Dole!    This was in 2006 and it seems alot of Democrats did NOT sign it..........maybe it's because they were afraid it would bite into their wallet.

                           Maybe.

How about this? Did you see this? This is why he begged!!!!

WASHINGTON — One of the giant mortgage companies at the heart of the credit crisis paid $15,000 a month from the end of 2005 through last month to a firm owned by Senator John McCain’s campaign manager, according to two people with direct knowledge of the arrangement.

No i did not look at it, because I have heard it out of his own mouth. Less regulation, less regulation. So maybe he is just saying that because he thinks that is what others want to hear, and if he doesn't say that then he will not be elected... Hmmmmm. Anyhow he won't be elected so I am really not worried about it.

What a load of crap.  How did any of us say we watched it come out of his mouth since this occured in 2006, the head of the house and senate would not let it hit the floor..............are you psychic?  Its a copy of the actual document.

Obama's friend and financial advisor Franklin Raines was the CEO of Fannie Mae.

If you hated Ken Lay you should consider what democrats did to Fannie Mae.

Having Franklin Raines as a financial advisor is like having the captain of the Titanic as an advisor on shipping. Raines walked from the doomed mortgage giant with a cool 50 Mil. It is alleged that Fannie Mae CEO's cooked the books for years to show a fake profit which would boost their yearly bonuses. Will we see a senate investigation? Don't make me laugh. The chairman of the senate banking committee democrat Chris Dodd is the numero uno recipient of Fannie Mae political contributions. The second highest recipient was ...guess who...first term senator Obama. Oh yeah, another one of Obama's top advisors, Jim Johnson is also a former CEO of Fannie Mae who walked off with about 35 Mil.

JUDLEERN:  I think you are confusing McCains stance on deregulation of insurance issues with the bailout.  Obama misquoted and maybe you should get some windex for your crystal ball, here is the link from fact.org  http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/out_of_context_on_health_care.html

Why didn't you use your crystal ball 8 years ago when you voted for BUSH.  I'm a democrat, and I had multiple arguments with everyone who would listen that if he got in gas prices would go through the roof and we would go back into Iraq.  Everyone looked at my like I was nuts.  I'm not voting for Obama, I've got feelings strong enough that I'll make another prediction.  BY the time his 4 years are up we will see one major US  city lying in rubble.  I cannot forsee where it comes from, it will either be a domestic terrorist attack or islamic extremists.  But I believe it will involve WMD's.  I foresaw all this mess 8 years ago.  Now that we are in Iraq, unfortunately we are in a pickle.  We can't rapidly withdraw.  Rapid withdrawel the first time around led to the rise of Osama bin Laden.  In times of war, you cannot have someone in power who is an 'appeaser'.  History is littered with Chamberlains, and other's who would make deals to avoid war.

I just am amazed at how people are saying Palin has no experience, and yet Obama(who is running for president not VP) is being given such accolades. On another nursing blog site an obvious Obama supporter has posted all the things wrong with Palin and Mccain. I have asked her over and over to tell me what Obama has done in the years he's been a senator. She has yet to answer that question which I think I've asked at least 2-3 times. She keeps cutting and pasting all this negative stuff about the republican candidates. Both parties have had their share of corruption. As for ranting about Palin's inexperience, well if the Dems are going to do that, then they need to look at their own presidential candidate. They keep acting like McCain is going to drop dead tomorrow and Palin will be in charge. Hello! John McCains Mom is like 93 years old and still going strong. Obama smokes, for all we know he could be courting early health problems.

So, maybe you should educate yourself and look at Obama's record. It is obvious that you do not know yur own candidates' records. Experience? Palin has experience? A part time mayor of a tiny little town? Any one who has lived in a small town knows all about small town politics

I agree with iluvnrsing.  McCain's doesn't appear to look as if he is aging gracefully these days.  Bush looks great, he runs everyday... It makes me nervous that Palin could be our Nation's V.P. and President if something happens to McCain.

I would have a tougher time choosing a President if McCain had not picked someone like Palin and it's not because she's a woman.  She just doesn't sound confident in her debates with Biden who has a law degree.  Palin has her B.S. in Communications and Journalism.  I would expect the White House to hold their candidates' credentials and experiences to a higher standard.

Kittyrn..I dont see how you see Obama as an appeaser as what he shows is class and style as opposed to a vindictive inexperienced female and McCain needs to retire. If another 911 happens it will be because Bush never caught BinLaden and gave hime time to regroup.

My gut feelings are it will be worse than 9/11.  I believe that McCain will not be afraid to act pre-emptively.  Perhaps, it's my own paranoia from having spent 3  of my 4 years in the Navy stationed at a nuclear submarine base.  Currently I had a family member that just spent a year all over the middle east and other hot spots, (afgan, Iraq, Turkey, Greece, Kuwait.)  You can't be a fence sitter, you have to choose a side, but I see this coming if Obama gets elected, the same way I saw that gas would go high, and we would go back into Iraq if Bush was elected.

This is Gov. Palin's Speech she in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, where she talked about compassion and promoting a culture of life in contrast to Barack Obama's record on abortion.

“In this same spirit, as defenders of the culture of life, John McCain and I believe in the goodness and potential of every innocent life.  I believe the truest measure of any society is how it treats those who are least able to defend and speak for themselves.  And who is more vulnerable, or more innocent, than a child?

When I learned that my son Trig would have special needs, I had to prepare my heart for the challenges to come.  At first I was scared, and Todd and I had to ask for strength and understanding.  But I can tell you a few things I’ve learned already.

Yes, every innocent life matters.  Everyone belongs in the circle of protection.  Every child has something to contribute to the world, if we give them that chance.  There are the world’s standards of perfection … and then there are God’s, and these are the final measure.  Every child is beautiful before God, and dear to Him for their own sake.

As for our beautiful baby boy, for Todd and me, he is only more precious because he is vulnerable.  In some ways, I think we stand to learn more from him than he does from us.  When we hold Trig and care for him, we don’t feel scared anymore.  We feel blessed.

It’s hard to think of many issues that could possibly be more important than who is protected in law and who isn’t – who is granted life and who is denied it.  So when our opponent, Senator Obama, speaks about questions of life, I listen very carefully.

I listened when he defended his unconditional support for unlimited abortions.  He said that a woman shouldn’t have to be – quote – “punished with a baby.”  He said that right here in Johnstown –“punished with a baby” – and it’s about time we called him on it.  The more I hear from Senator Obama, the more I understand why he is so vague and evasive on the subject.  Americans need to see his record for what it is.  It’s not negative or mean-spirited to talk to about his record.  Whatever party you belong to, there are facts you need to know.

Senator Obama has voted against bills to end partial-birth abortion.  In the Illinois Senate, a bipartisan majority passed legislation against that practice.  Senator Obama opposed that bill.  He voted against it in committee, and voted “present” on the Senate floor.  In that legislature, “present” is how you vote when you’re against something, but don’t want to be held to account.

Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan, a Democrat, described partial-birth abortion as “too close to infanticide.”  Barack Obama thinks it’s a constitutional right, but he is wrong.

Most troubling, as a state senator, Barack Obama wouldn’t even stand up for the rights of infants born alive during an abortion.  These infants – often babies with special needs – are simply left to die.

In 2002, Congress unanimously passed a federal law to require medical care for those babies who survive an abortion.  They’re living, breathing babies, but Senator Obama describes them as “pre-viable.”  This merciful law was called the Born Alive Infants Protection Act.  Illinois had a version of the same law.  Obama voted against it.

Asked about this vote, Senator Obama assured a reporter that he’d have voted “yes” on that bill if it had contained language similar to the federal version of the Born Alive Act.  There’s just one little problem with that story: the language of both the state and federal bills was identical.

In short, Senator Obama is a politician who has long since left behind even the middle ground on the issue of life.  He has sided with those who won’t even protect a child born alive.  And this exposes the emptiness of his promises to move beyond the “old politics.”

In both parties, Americans have many concerns to be weighed in the votes they cast on November fourth.  In times like these, with wars and a financial crisis, it’s easy to forget even as deep and abiding a concern as the right to life.  And it seems our opponent hopes that you will forget.  Like so much else in his agenda, he hopes you won’t notice how radical his ideas and record are until it’s too late.

But let there be no misunderstanding about the stakes.

A vote for Barack Obama is a vote for activist courts that will continue to smother the open and democratic debate we need on this issue, at both the state and federal level.  A vote for Barack Obama would give the ultimate power over the issue of life to a politician who has never once done anything to protect the unborn.   As Senator Obama told Pastor Rick Warren, it’s above his pay grade.

For a candidate who talks so often about “hope,” he offers no hope at all in meeting this great challenge to the conscience of America.  There is a growing consensus in our country that we can overcome narrow partisanship on this issue, and bring all the resources of a generous country to the aid of both women in need and the child waiting to be born.  We need more of the compassion and idealism that our opponent’s own party, at its best, once stood for.  We need the clarity and conviction of leaders like the late Governor Bob Casey.

He represented a humanity that speaks to all of us – no matter what our party, our background, our faith, or our gender.  And no matter your position on this sensitive subject, I hope that spirit will guide you on Election Day.  I ask you to vote for McCain-Palin on the November fourth, and help us to bring this country together in the rational discussion of compassion and life.”

Why are you afraid shrinklpn?  For those who are not conservative people who are praying that McCain and Pailin wont win this election, why are you posting here?  By your comment 'you are all so bright' do you feel that those who aren't liberal are idiots?  After this election is over, we're still going to be nurses.  When I am at  work, I do not speak about politics.  In this forum, I feel more comfortable to vent.

In the last week or so, I have changed my mind over a couple of issues but I'm still conservative and I wont ever support late term abortion.

I heard that there was going to be a porno flick with a Sarah Pailin lookalike.  The guy who has Hustler magazine, cant think of his name.  That is so disrespectful.  I would feel the same bile in my throat if they were doing it on Nancy Pelosi, Hilliary Clinton, Barbara Box, etc.   All of these women have families and despite them being in a different political  party, I hope all women on this link...............and men too, wont be hooting and hollering about that if it is true that its going to be made.  Its exploitation of women and by doing a nasty film associating the star with an American politician, it's an insult to our country.

Angienwgeorgia:  I am not trying to police anything or anyone. But, when someone is trying to be so high and mighty by picking on me, I will pick back. You asked me what I was afraid of so I told you. Again, as I state earlier there are some real bullies on here. I and others can post what ever we want wherever we want.

Since when does spelling and grammar not count?  You want to pretend that you are so smart, just pointing out that you are not. That’s all.

I have posted more than once that I am young and working on my RN. I have also posted that I hope to one day have the nursing knowledge that I see on here.

I even several days ago started a thread that was completely ignored about this very topic.
Did I say that You called him antichrist? No, I did not. But such garbage has been posted on this site. Again, that is where I am coming from.

I am giving some strong consideration to looking into something other than nursing if what I have been seeing on here is indicative of the field. I have been sheltered in my small little LPN world in the doctor’s office.

Teach me manners? Wow, you have some nerve. You tell folks they are full of crap, and rudely ask someone if they are psychic. Where are your manners?  I just bet that you call yourself a Christian too don’t you?  I have never seen so many rude, mean and hateful people as I have on this site.
FYI: I will  psot here or anywhere anytime I feel like it. If you do not post lies and are not calling people names, then you won't care. If you can't take it, don't dish it out.

As far as 'fear' being brought into this

Obama brought fear into this when he associated with Tony Rezko and real life radicals like Bill Ayers, and Rev Jeremiah Wright.  More recently he told a plumber on Fox news, that he wanted to 'redistribute the wealth'.  Last time I checked that's socialism.  One of the nurses that I work with is an Obama supporter, and she said "Socialist nations are a happy people", If you believe that than do vote for Obama.  Freedom will be dead.

I am finding that I sort of miquoted myself......I am not posting in the Obama/Biden thread <btw, I do have respect for Biden, he could be great>.  However, I got some really interesting info today.   Thing is, my husband sent me an email with info from Chicago stats.  There are also a couple of links for quote checking at the bottom.  On the bottom link........look at the one about Obama's trip to Germany!  I do not have proof the authors of the link are telling the truth any more than than any other reporter but looks very interesting nontheless.

Subject: Chicago

Pull out of Iraq!

Perhaps the U.S. should pull out of Chicago?

Body count: In the last six months:

292 killed (murdered) in Chicago;

221 killed in Iraq
.

Chicago... Who Runs it:

Senators: Barack Obama & Dick Durbin

Rep: Jesse Jackson Jr.,

Illinois Gov: Rod Blogojevich,

Illinois House leader Mike Madigan,

Illinois Atty. Gen. Lisa Madigan (daughter of Mike),

Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley (son of Mayor Richard J. Daley)

.....our leadership in Illinois.....all Democrats.

Thank you for the combat zone in Chicago.

Of course, they're all blaming each other!

Can't blame Republicans; they're aren't any!

State pension fund $44 Billion in debt, worst in country.

Cook County (Chicago) sales tax 10.25% highest in country. (Look 'em up if you want).

Chicago school system rated one of the worst in the country.

This is the political culture that Obama comes from in Illinois. And he's gonna 'fix' Washington politics for us!

Wake Up America!
