What? you need to go back to your history books for the history of penicillin. Sorry. It was not Marie. Maybe you have already had a few martinis? Sarah is setting back women 100 years. She is no role model for young girls.

Your right, I'm wrong, Alexander Fleming guy did that..............I have not had a martini.  SHE was the nobel prize winner, I went to the trouble to look it up dangit.  Gin and Vodka both make me ralph.

http://plus.aol.com/aol/reference/Curie/Curie?flv=1&flv=1&icid=rbox_ref_center.Mngit.

I still think she needs to go in the books for a great role model for young women and I know I'm not alone.  I hate history, I admit it.  I hate English classes more than history classes as well.

Frumpster - I am sure glad to see that someone agrees with my thoughts! I really think Condi Rice would have been a very good choice as a VP. I suspect that she would have gotten beaten up as a Presidential nominee because she is such a true LADY, but a term as VP would change that.

I had the pleasure of seeing her in SLC, Utah at the American Legion National Convention 2 years ago, and my wife met her at a lunch later that day. Neither of us liked the Secretary of Defense, and were glad to see him replaced, but we were both very impressed with Condi.

Lord willing, the next time around, she will be given the chance she deserved this time!

I don't know about everyone else, but I am sure glad this is OVER.

God bless all, Paul

Dear Abusy

Both Rey and I have felt that Condi would have been a great pick, but like you said, she is so close to dubya, that many perceiver her as  "The  Second Coming" , and since JM goal was to distance himself from dubya, Condi, as good as she  was, wouldn't have worked.

I think SP was the best time, but it was not the best time for them. They were running uphill like molasses in January, it was such an uphill battle. The crowning blow  was the mortgage meltdown and I so feel for the two of them. In any race, somebody has to lose, but 2 more honorable people. Saw  her  yesterday and I was SUPER impressed and the FIRST DUDE was to cool.

Amen, Percy. I agree with everything you said on this forum.

Obama won this presidency fair and square...now to see true democracy come to fruition. :)

Cleaning up this economic mess will take time, but Obama/Biden are it for the job. We must move forward as a nation, work together.

I am proud to know I will be a contributing nurse to my community, and proud to be American! :)

I'm not a fan of sarah palin, i think she has a hard time seperating her beliefs from what rights the country should enjoy.  Having said that, attacking her looks, way of speaking, and intelligence should be left to things like the daily show lol where they make fun of everyone.  She is an intelligent woman, i just wouldn't vote for her because of her policies.

Thank God we live in America because I do not think she is intelligent. I have yet to see it lets put it that way. I do not think she is dumb either, just not very smart.

I think that's what lost  the election for  John McCain (many people thought it would be 4 more years of the same.). if he chose Condi, she has been with Dubya for 8 years, and it would be IMMEDIATE guilt b association with Bush.

Plus, he's a reform  politician. She's not a politician and I'm not sure she'd succeed; but she's so damn capable!

I like Sarah Palin. I like her energy, I feel she's intelligent, understanding and speaks to the masses. I feel that she was a bit inexperienced this election; but she is a quick study.

I think she can seperate her personal beliefs from what she believes is right for the country. I just think that the two are intertwined at times. What can I say, she, like all of us is entitled to her beliefs; and I don't see what it is about her personal beliefs that people find offensive. And as far as what is right for the country, (and I'll use abortion as an example, here) I think she firmly feels that the road to eventually decreasing the number of abortions is not to encourage them.

Encouraging them might be the easy way out of a sticky situation (like with her daughter), especially with her family being in the public eye. But she believes that abortion is wrong and she stands by those guns. To me, that's moxie, having the inner strength to have the courage of her convictions.

I feel that the Sarah Palins, the Bobby Jindahls, the Michael Steeles and the Tim Pawlentys are the future of the Republican party. And I don't feel that Hillary for the Democratic Party is 'finished' by any means. Let's face it, when in the history of this planet, has a  Clinton sat back on his/her haunches?

The election is over...why continue bashing Sarah Palin? Who on this site is equipped to measure her level of intelligence? Who on this site has never made a serious mistake in their life and can comment on her daughter's pregnancy? Who is equipped to run a state the size of Alaska ....or Rhode Island for that matter? How many are working mothers and drop their child or children off at day care or the baby sitter every time they go to work? She is just as good a role model as athletes who make multi million dollar paychecks and spend most of it on the drugs they suck up. Anyone who feels they are above and beyond all of this and are perfect, feel free to cast the first stone...all others, keep them in your pocket.

Good point, Laura.

Politicians live for votes, so during a campaign their focus is to tear the other candidates apart. I was a political appointee, but never, ever, ever would run for office - don't care to be subject to smears and mud-slinging.

Now the election is over, so let's get on with life. None of the candidates are perfect people. None of us are. It's time to come together and focus on what's best for our country!

Well, Rice is a failure, too.... her speciality is Russian history and she let that one slip right through her fingers.  I had hope for her, but she, too, fell into the W trap.  I thought she would be smarter than that....

Anyone who says Palin is intelligent has nothing to base their opinion upon.  I'll respect people who say they like her for a lot of reasons, but intelligence is not one of them.  She did absolutely nothing to display her intelligence!
