I would suggest that nurses be more compassionate to one another. We are human and do make mistakes. This does not mean we have to crucify them and chase them out of the profession. This happens too often when it relates to personalities. I desire to see a more forgiving culture and let the nurse learn from ones mistake. Nurses are hardest on themselves and will remember the mistake. They will take extra steps to prevent the mistake from ever happening again. This would help the retention and decrease the burnout rates our profession creates.

No I dont think the portrayal is accurate. There leaves a lot to be desired even in the salary dept. If you dont really want to be a nurse you could burn out fast. I think though, that there is job security in nursing.
