That all depends on you. I sort of got sick of nursing almost 24/7 between the job and school If you have an “easy” job in the hospital then go for  it.

If you've never had any experience in a hospital setting before and have time to do so, I would recommend it.  I ended up getting certified as an EMT and applied to a small hospital as an ER Tech.  about 5-6 years ago and I learned so much!  The nurses and the doctors were so helpful in educating me on new things I had never seen before and in the ER you are exposed to everything.  Once I got my experience in the hospital I was able to see what nursing was about and have worked in a hospital setting ever since.  Some of the nurses I worked with had never worked in a hospital before becoming a nurse and stated that they wish they would've done so.  I am currently going to nursing school and some of my friends have never worked in a hospital and they seem to be fine about it.  So the decision is up to you.  I would only recommend it if you have time. If you do decide to work, only work 16 -24 hrs.  You dont want to fall behind in your studies.
