Posted over 4 years ago So we've all heard about the Nursing shortage. I see nursing job advertisements all the time. I see large companies lobbying for more work visas for foriegn nurses. I'm a new grad and I've been looking for a job for weeks now and I keep hearing the same thing over and over. They want you to have 1 year of experience at least. How on earth can I get experience if nobody wants to hire me? How can they afford to turn me away if their is a shortage and they need to keep nurse to patient ratio's safe? I smell a rat. Anybody else think so? |

| Posted over 4 years ago Here is a link to a Wilkepedia article on the Nursing Shortage. It definitively describes and evaluates the same: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nursing_shortage |

| Posted over 4 years ago It may depend on where you live because in some areas of the country there is no shortage. Also, are you an LPN or an RN? |
