| Posted over 4 years ago I am not even in school yet but hopfully in spring. I got my first tat on the outer right side of my stomach, I think I was 16, Don't ask. My Second was a mushroom that I didn't want around the same age. My Bully Boyfriend that I lived with and took care of made a tattoo gun one day and wanted to draw on me. I didn't have much say in that relationship. But , I got out by 19 and I got a boxer puppy. He Is my baby, so I covered up that shroom with my puppy on my right lower calf. Then on my 22 b-day I got a jap.symbol for DREAM on the back of my neck. Around the same age I went and got the "Tramp Stamp" I wouldn't have if I'd known that every girl over 18 in america has to have one by law it seems like. It's a Black and Purple tribal butterfly. I wish I had left it alone so I could do a huge back piece. When one of my younger sisters wanted me totake her to get her 1st one I of coarse had to get another. It was aNaked Fairy on my outer left arm. The boy I was in love w/, had more tatts than me, was in Iraq and hadn't seen it yet and I hadn't gotten the chance to tell him about it. it didn't even heal. Alls My mom Had to say to me after she asked how my day went looking for a job w/out any luck I was down about that ; se started to cry. My mom never crys, she said " I need you to be strong now." I didn't get it, I though she was upset about something I didn't get it until she said thru sobbs and tears " there was an accident" My world was changed forever. I was ready to join the military, but the one on my neck was to high . I needed to ave it removed, Aslo my new Fairy on my arm needed a dress, that I would get in trouble for that, they wanted me to put a pink tutu on her, I came back the next day w/ a camo dress on her . they didn't laugh. I did. but I found out how long it would take to get the one off the back of my neck. I cried until I couldn't anymore. Met my now husband, whom I love and is wonderful. He is not even into tatts. I covered the fairy on my arm with a cross, flowers,a banner with 1982-2005 at the bottom, another on top A M M his initials. I have the idea in my head of what i'm going to do on the inside of my arm. It will me a symbol of my new Love and first Husband, so I will have a half sleeve. you can see the one on my arm I think, in some of my wedding pic's. The dress had a lace jacket, there is a good close up of that arm w/out the jacket if I uploaded it . If I didn't and you want to see just drop me a line. |

| Posted over 4 years ago When I was 16 a bunch of my friends went and wanted me to go, but I was too scared! I always regreted it, and for my 35th birthday I finally got one! I couldn't find exactly what I wanted, so the guy said,"go find a picture and bring it back". I found a pretty butterfly, and he did it in tropical colors on my L breast. Almost 20 years later, it's still pretty. I now want to get a couple more...just waiting to find the "perfect" picture! |

| Posted over 4 years ago I was 19 and believe it or not, my mom went first and then dared me to-I wanted one anyway, so...I got a hummingbird on my right shoulder. I love birds-like other ppl are dog/cat ppl-I'm a bird person. I would like to get one more-my mom passed away this year and I'd like to get angel wings in memory of her. Just trying to get up the courage, my husband and mother-in-law are against it, but it's my body and I dont' see anything wrong with it. Anyway, I'll keep ya posted. Until then...keep on keepin' on! |

| Posted over 4 years ago hey folks, 2 tatts and 1 more tba. I finished lpn and rn sooo I went to a friend whom tatts and had right and left outer ankles done. 3 hours later I have the lpn above the medical symbol with cursive writing July 2003, on the left rn above the symbol July 2005. Since I'm working on my bsn you can imagine that this 43yr is going to get a big B.S. above the medical symbol which by the way kinda looks like an arrow pointing downward, with the month and year I get it, as a TRAMP STAMP. People might mistake it for bullshit and pointing down to the rectum - damn near killed him. sorry, ex husband humor. maybe that's why he's ex!!! Yeah I got mine in 2005 the day before my sister-in-laws wedding. She died 3 months later the day before I turned 40. The letters are a brite purple for my college colors too. I was thinking of adding a few little femine flowers around the sides. don't know yet. |

| Posted over 4 years ago I never used to like tattoos until recently. Maybe it's a mid-life crisis, I don't know. But last summer my whole family went and got our first tats. Since then, I've come to appreciate tats and the meaning behind them. My first tat has a lot of meaning, something I really don't want to explain, but it reminds me everyday about what i've been through, where i'm going, and where I'll never go again. (Nunquam Iterium) My second one is a caduceus. I asked the tattoo artist to make it a little non-typical. Both are located on my delts. If you go to my profile, you can check them out. |

| Posted over 4 years ago I have 2 tats...I have a heart on my lower stomach, that was my first tattoo...I got it when my husband I were first dating, he actually came with me to Austin Texas and sat with my while I had it done. I am going to add an Anchor to it, to symbolize the love I have for my Sailor. I have one on my lower back..my husband has the same piece on his upper back. It is tribal and signifies strength and unity. My husband is thinking about getting another one. |

| Posted over 4 years ago My dear sweet mother-n-law who I think so much about..great woman..asked me every year what I want for my B-Day and every year I would tell her a tattoo. Just so happened that a few days after my birthday, we were on a family trip in the Smokey Mountains and she asked me what I wanted for my B-Day and again I said a tattoo....this is for my 40th birthday... So we went down the mountain (which was up hill both ways..LOL) into a little town and found a shop. My sister -n- law is going thru the shop makin sure everything looks good and sterile while I am picking out my design. I decided to go with a vine and butterfly on the top of my skin and bone foot....OMG don't ever do that! but it does look really cool when I ware flip-flops. ~~~ butterfly ~~~ (dosen't that look nice!) oh ya the "~~~" is the vine....lol

| Posted over 4 years ago I have a Texas star on my left shoulder because I am originally from Texas and like they say... you can take the girl out of Texas but... Peace symbol colored with the American flag in between as my tribute to 911... don't ever want to forget that because too many heroes get forgotten. i
Intial of my last name on my left foot.... my whole family got it at my son's wedding... Jesus Christ on my wrist.. but it's written like a palandrome (sp?) it reads the same front and back and upside down.. really cool... And finally, my 3 kids signatures on my right foot. I had them sign my foot and then tattooed over it in brown ink.. my favorite one!! |

| Posted over 4 years ago I have 3, I got all three done October 11,2008 All done at the same time! My right upper arm says " Only God Can Judge Me" On my right shoulder blade I have a huge red heart with a blue rose in it with my husband's name "Joe" The other is on my left upper arm, this year my best friend of 24 years & I have been going through some tough times so I got A rose bud with our initials that says "Forever Friends" All of mine can only be seen if I have a tank top or sleeveless dress on. Will add pics later. It amazes me though how many people still draw back or have negative comments when they see you have a tat. In January I am going on a cruise with a friend & I just bought a nice dress for the Captians Banquet. One comment " that would look really good without the tattoo's" I put a lot of thought into them before getting them & they are a part of me now like it or leave it! :) I have also gotten flak that it is inappropriate for me to have the one I have on my left arm! So I direct them to the one on my right arm! Hehe!

| Posted over 4 years ago I have two tats and two piercings. My first tat was back when I was 17. It's a butterfly and rose on my right breast. My mom was so mad at me. My other tat was done last year and it's a cute little devil on my left hip. I do plan on getting one across my lower back this summer. I need to draw it out and they will do it up! |

| Posted over 4 years ago I have one tat--I got it for mother's day a few years ago. It is a "tramp stamp"--it is tribal with a diamond above it. My husband has several and is a cardiac nurse. I also am very lucky--my tattoo artist is my brother-in-law and he has been doing tats for 30 years. |

| Posted over 2 years ago Ok, so I have 2 tattoos. The first is the yin-yang sign on the inside of my left ankle. I got this many years ago to represent balance....the balance between male/female, light/dark, good/bad, etc. My second is my 3 children's name in Japanese. Their names are wrapped around my right ankle like a bracelet with various cherry blossoms and leaves to make it like an anklet. My husband's stepfather is Japanese and this is out of respect for him....my husband has a matching tattoo minus the flowers wrapped around his left bicep.

| Posted over 2 years ago I had to laugh when I read your post, Gitano RN! I drew my tat out and took it to a shop a lot of my co-workers had used, since I had proof of the workmanship from the artist. Mine is a large purple-blue rose in the middle of two blooming smaller red rosebuds, symbolizing myself and my two children, with a green vine connecting us. There's background on why I chose the colors I did as well- I got it done for my birthday this year, after a year of divorce, and have since finished school. The best part is there is room for change as my life changes- looks like I may be adding a little red to my rose! |

. I got my first down in Champaign, IL when I was 18. If you guessed that it was a tribal butterfly on my lower back, you would be correct. My next one was done at Jade Dragon in Chicago when I was 20. My roommate (who I don't talk to anymore) and I got matching lizards on our LLQ. I'm pretty sure it will grow into a dinosaur when I get pregnant eventually. Those two tattoos I could do without and occationally regret having them. My last tattoo I LOVE because it is SO ME! On my right scapula I have the gemini symbol in emerald green. I'm a gemini to the core and I was born in May (emerald birthstone) and I'm also part Irish, so the green works. I regret the other tattoos because I want to get another one and I am running out of inconspicuous places. I grew up watching Animaniacs and I want to get a pic of Hello Nurse somewhere on my body. That, or the cub from the 1982 Cubs jerseys wearing a nurses hat. I haven't decided.
