Posted about 4 years ago I suspect nurses don't want to think about them. Could there be a direct relationship between 'nursing salary' and 'cost of healthcare'? Many nurses probably feel their salary certainly isn't tipping the boat, but the relationship is clear. Jeannie

Posted about 4 years ago Please! Nursing salaries tipping the boat! Try walking into the ER waiting room of any inner city hospital between the hours of 1pm and midnight, and tell me what is tipping the boat! People without health insurance (for whatever reason) who know that because EMTALA states that they must receive a physical and stabilizing care if they present at an emergency room with any complaint whatsoever, are using said ER as their primary care doctor, pharmacy, dentist, and drug dealer all in one! And those of us with health insurance pay the price, because those that can pay do pay... for everyone who can't.

Posted about 4 years ago I never feel right about high health care premiums, definitely not good about increase. This is very like America. If you're been to Singapore, a small land in Asia, you'll feel totally unsatisfied with our health care system. The government pays 80% of basic public healthcare services, so the expenditure is kept tight that health insurance doesn't add to their burden. I actually envy them. Imagine them paying only a third of whay we spend. I'm very concerned about this because nurses and every medical practitioner also have to deal witht the very same problem, just like all others who want good health and good medical services. Unsolicited events encumbered the profession that I've always loved. Recently accepted home-based work for http://www.pulseuniform.com to reconnect with the industry.

Posted about 4 years ago I still say, there is only one thing worse than no health care, that is, bad health care. Jeannie

Posted almost 4 years ago What does that statement have to do with the COST of Healthcare? Personal opinion, I don't think quality of care should be sacrificed. Jeannie

Posted over 3 years ago I hear what you are saying 86toronado. I am sure that is why our president is supporting a Public Option in a Nationalized Healthcare Bill. I just don't think that "change" will necessarily "improve" things. Jeannie
