Posted over 4 years ago I'm not sure where to post this, so I'll just throw this out for everyone - Maybe someone else has these questions too... I'm fairly new here, and I can't figure out the following: 1. I understand thumbs up for someone's photo, but what does it mean when you give thumbs up or down for an article? You agree or disagree with the content? You don't think it is appropriate to read or discuss? You don't like the person who posted it? 2. What is "flag as inappropriate?" Inappropriate in what way? If you click on it, does it give you options? 3. Are product reviews just for products you have tried, or just if you think it would be a good (or not so good) product? 4. Is there a place on the site that answers questions like these? While I'm at it, here are some opinions from a new guy: This site is an interesting combination of professional topics, games and a way to meet people. If the point system seems "pointless," then no one's forced to use it. I don't collect points purposely, but it's kind of fun. Probably I could get to three stars if I live another 50 years or so... I don't belong to any other sites - nothing like Myspace, or any occupation-related sites either. But I have checked some out, and people can be downright rude and nasty - I haven't really seen that here, even though there are some disagreements, of course. Bottom line: Yes, I have plenty of other things going on in life, but it's nice to take a few minutes (or more...) to unwind, check out some interesting info, play some silly games, (and some challenging quizzes) and meet preoiple I would otherwise never have met. So far I've met lots of people with common interests, and one REALLY nice friend. The site is free, and I can use it or not, as I please. All in all, even with any problems it may have, I give the site a Thumbs Up!

| Posted over 4 years ago And a thumbs up to you. I am not a site admin but will answer what questions I can for you. They can jump in here and answer some if I answer wrong or can't answer. 1. the thumbs up on the article can mean that you agree with it, find it to be a good and useful article or what ever. 2. the inapproriate flag I have used only one time and that was months ago. I gave an inapproriate flag to a video. Do not recall exactly what the video had in it but it was not very flattering to nursing students and nursing. 3.I have done both. Products that I have used and products that look like something I would want to try. 4. There is a FAQ on here somewhere I think. Not seen too many rude ones on here. Does it happen? Yes. SOme are I think more out spoken than others. SOme are just focused on themselves. Some are very sensitive. Some can not see their own faults. |

| Posted over 4 years ago Welcome to NursingLink, LawyerRN! CDNurse and leng have done a great job of answering your questions! Thanks, CDNurse and leng! Like they said... The Thumbs Up and Down ratings can be used when you like something/don't like something, agree/disagree, or just find an article, video, or photo interesting. The "Flag as Inappropriate" button allows users to let the site admins know if there is something on the site that is offensive so we can remove it. You can review any products you like - whether you have used them or not. If you think a product is a great idea, but haven't tried it, go ahead and share your thoughts by leaving a comment. I hope this answres your questions, and I hope you continue to find NursingLink a fun, informative, relaxing place to be! |
