Why is it a law to wear a seatbelt and use child safety/booster seats but there are no seatbelts or booster seats on the school bus (at least where I'm from)?

I HAD to quote on this.. I drive a school bus part-time and I can tell you why they won't (better not) put seatbelts in. I have between 70-82 kids on my bus at any given time. Say something were to go wrong under the hood, bus fire, or a truck hit us, I am ONE bus driver, if the kids panic I can not get to them to un-buckle 26 seatbelts and get them off the bus safely, plus watch the kids that are off the bus at the same time.

Even though in cars, not wearing a seatbelt is a hazzard, on a school bus not wearing one is safer. The seats are created higher to prevent the kids from flying out and over the seats. If they put seatbelts on the larger buses, it could be your child in the back stuck when that bus goes up in flames...

Which would you prefer; you child safely off the bus with minor injuries, maybe a broken wrist, or a police man at your door telling you that you child has died in a school bus accident? Now don't take me wrong, I don't put it this way to offend anyone, I put it this way to help you see it the way we drivers do. Our priorities are watching the road, 6 mirrors, and 70-82 kids, and every car that is within 50 feet of us. Add 26 (if one for each seat) seatbelts and it becomes a maze of problems.

 Why is it that whenever you attempt to catch something that's falling off the table you always manage to knock something else over? 

WHY OHH WHY????

When the button has been pushed for the elevator, and it is lit, why do we feel the need to push it again if it's been more than 3 seconds?
