I just started school in August - yes it is very stressful and have wondered many times is this stress worth it? I do believe it is especially the more time I invest and the more I learn the more fascinated I am with this "world" we call nursing. I also got married in August to a man who was supportive of my goal and dream of becoming a nurse. Now he is not. That makes things really hard. I wish you well and just keep your eyes on your goal and remember in the end it will be worth it. You will have a good job and one that you love if your dream is truly to be a nurse!!!!!

I know how you feel, I just started nursing school. I have 3 kids and I work full time as well. Thank god for the support of my husband, When I can drag him away from the TV.lol I just keep thinking of the light at the end of the tunnel. It will all be worth it. Everything is stressful, but we are women and we can handle it,lol. Good Luck to you.

I just graduated this June. I have a six year old son who was in Kindergarten the time I was trying to graduate. On top of that I am engaged to be married in May 08. There were many clincal hours to finish, preceptor hours, papers, and exams for school. I had PTO meeting, volunteer bingo, and help with homework for my son. Then I also had plans to acomplish for the wedding. The final big one studying for the NCLEX. All this happening together (gets people in tune with the nursing field, I guess).
My biggest advice is to just take things one day at a time. Things come together eventually, it just takes time and lots of patience. I was very overwhelmed when trying to do everything, everyday. Remeber to take time for yourself alone sometimes too. It will do wonders!

Hey, I'm a mother of two, just quit my part time job to concentrate on school more. My hubby works full time and goes to school full time. I feel like a single parent sometimes. Now that I just have the kids and school to worry about, I am doing much better. I actually have time to cook and clean along with studying!!! Good luck to you. I know its hard especially when you have to work and the kids are in extra cirricular activities.
When a person goes to nursing school, the whole family goes to nursing school too. The family picks up where we leave off. They also make sacrifices in their schedule to accomadate us. I hope you have a strong support system because it makes the learning process alot more smooth. Besides, when you are finished with school, you can do so much more for them financially. Your kids will also appreciate how hard you worked for your degree and most likely it will inspire them to go after their goals as well. Good luck to you!
